Police arrested 12 accused The accused raided the city’s jewelery shop Radhika Jewellers. They had described themselves as the ED team. During this time cash and jewelery were stolen. When the jeweler later informed the police, the police investigated. It was revealed that ED had not conducted any raid. After this the police formed several teams to arrest the accused.
After this, Bharat Morwadia, Devayat Khachar, Abdulsattar Manjothi, Hitesh Thakkar, Vinod Chudasama, Eugene David, Ashish Mishra, Chandraraj Nair, Ajay Dubey, Amit Mehta, his wife Nisha Mehta and Shailendra Desai were arrested.

He told his colleague Khachar that the Income Tax Department had raided this jewelers about six years ago and seized a large amount of cash and jewellery. The owners of Radhika Jewelers still have assets worth Rs 100 crore. After this, Manjothi, Hitesh Thakkar and Vinod Chudasama were included in the conspiracy.
All of them had met 15 days ago at a tea shop in Adipur town and had prepared a plan to raid the firm by posing as ED officers. After this Chudasama asked Mishra for help. He also implicated Ahmedabad residents Nair, Amit, Nisha, Vipin Sharma and Shailendra Desai in the crime, who work as translators in the Divisional Railway Manager’s office in Ahmedabad.
The officer said, after this Desai prepared a fake identity card of an ED officer named Ankit Tiwari. The raid team comprising Desai, Mishra, Nair, Dubey, Amit Mehta, Nisha Mehta and Vipin Sharma reached the jeweller’s showroom and house on 2 December. During the fake raid, Nisha Mehta stole cash and jewelery worth Rs 25.25 lakh.
