A video is going viral on social media. In the video, some policemen are seen breaking the CCTV camera. It is being claimed that this video is from Sambhal, where UP Police had broken CCTV cameras even before the violence.
- Tweets related to this claim were made by many verified and non-verified users on X (earlier Twitter).
Khan Sir parody account wrote in its tweet – We have not seen Kashmir files but Sambhal files are visible live. Police officers can be clearly seen breaking the cameras installed on the houses. The mobile phones of these policemen should be checked, then we will know who instigated the riot and why. ,archive tweet)

What is the truth of the viral claim?
To verify the claim, we reverse searched the keyframes of the video on Google Images. Investigation revealed that this video is not from Sambhal but from during the anti-CAA protest in Khureji, North-East Delhi in 2020.
During investigation we found on 26th February 2020 The Quint Found a report published on. It was reported in this report that Delhi Police had allegedly broken the CCTV camera during the demonstration in Khureji.

- It is clear that the video which is being made viral by linking it to Sambhal violence. It is actually from the year 2020 during the CAA protests in Delhi. The claims being made regarding the video are false and misleading.
