On behalf of Janata Intermediate College, Ramkola, a letter for promotion of two teachers was sent from the DIOS office to the Joint Director of Education (JD), Gorakhpur. Assistant teacher Ram Avadh Kumar Yadav was recommended to be the English lecturer and Mukesh Kumar was recommended to be made the History lecturer.
However, when JD Gorakhpur Satish Singh contacted the then DIOS Ravindra Kumar Singh, he denied sending any such letter. When the matter seemed suspicious, JD wrote a letter to DIOS Kushinagar on December 30, ordered an investigation and called back the original letter sent with fake signatures.
No concrete action has been taken yet in this serious matter. State Backward Classes Commission member Phoolbadan Kushwaha termed it a serious issue and said that fraud is taking place on a large scale in the DIOS office. He has demanded immediate intervention of the Chief Minister and higher officials in the matter.
According to sources, a clerk was attached and made to work in the DIOS office for a long time contrary to the government order. This matter is also under investigation. Acting DIOS Dr. Bhupendra Kumar Mishra said, investigation into the matter is going on. The culprits will not be spared. Action will be taken as per rules. State Backward Class Commission member Phoolbadan Kushwaha said, fraud in the education department is promoting corruption. The government should take strict action in such cases. This matter has deeply hurt the credibility of the education department. Now it remains to be seen when and what kind of action is taken against the culprits after investigation.
