Deendayal Rasoi Yojana, which provides full meals to the poor for Rs 5 at Sehore district headquarters, has been closed. The reason for closure of the scheme is lack of money. Due to which the operator has stopped this scheme.

Kitchen operator Pradeep Sharma said that the grant amount has not been paid for the last 6 months. Now this amount has reached almost seven lakhs, due to which the kitchen has had to be locked. Under this scheme, poor people could have a full meal for Rs 5, but now this scheme has been stopped. Pradeep told that every day many people come to ask for information about the resumption of this scheme.
Trying to restart the kitchen in a day or two
Municipality CMO Bhupendra Dixit said that the operators of Deendayal Kitchen have been demanding grant money from time to time, but due to delay in allocation of funds, this scheme was stopped. He said that correspondence has been done with higher officials and efforts are being made to restart the kitchen in a day or two. The allocation of Rs 5 lakh has arrived, after which this scheme will start again.

Allocation of food grains continues
Deendayal Rasoi Yojana has been closed in the city for 6 months, but the administration is continuously allocating food grains for the scheme. District Supply Officer said that 36 quintals of wheat and 9 quintals of rice have been received for subdivisions Sehore, Ashta, Budhni. On the basis of allocation, 12 wheat and rice 3 quintals have been provided to Sehore sub-division, Ashta has been provided 12 wheat and rice 3 quintals and Budhni has been provided 12 wheat and rice 3 quintals. District Supply Officer said that wheat and rice will be supplied to the municipality at the rate of Re 1 per kilogram.
