Urologist Dr. Anil Baidya of Kanpur Medical College said that the patient had difficulty in urination, thin stream and bleeding. Earlier he was undergoing treatment in a private hospital, but he did not get much benefit.
After this he got himself examined and a large tumor was detected in the bladder. Percutaneous nephrostomy tubes were placed in both his kidneys and chemotherapy was given. After this he joined Dr. Anil J., Assistant Professor of Urology Department at Hallett Hospital. Contacted Baidya.
The tumor was 15×15 cm
Dr. Baidya told that during investigation it was found that the tumor of 15×15 cm was spread in the entire bladder. Therefore it was obstructing both the ureters. Complex surgery was required to remove it.
On January 6, 2025, a team under the leadership of Dr. Sanjay Kala, Principal of GSVM Medical College, successfully removed the tumor through an incision followed by removal of the bladder and testicles and lymph node dissection through binocular operation.
New bladder made from intestine
A new bladder was created from a small part of the patient’s small intestine (Pitcher’s Pot method). The team included Assistant Professor, Urology Dr. Anil J. Baid, Associate Professor Dr Abhishek Gond and junior resident doctors included Dr Mohammed Saqib Ali, Dr Pavani Vatsal, Dr Geeta and Dr Durgesh.

During surgery, the patient’s bladder and tumor were completely removed and a neobladder was created. This surgery was extremely complex and challenging. After the operation, the patient is now much healthier.
