Maha Kumbh 2025: For the first time Ganga will be seen flowing in a single stream, earlier Sangam used to reach through three streams, Akhilesh Yadav raised questions - Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 for the first time Ganga will be seen flowing in a single stream at Sangam in Prayagraj akhilesh raised questions

Maha Kumbh Mela 2025: ‘Maha Kumbh Mela’, one of the world’s largest religious events, will be organized in the religious city of Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh from January 13 to February 26, 2025. Lakhs of devotees are expected to attend the festival to seek blessings and take a holy dip at the sacred confluence of rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. Keeping in mind the convenience and traffic of devotees during the Maha Kumbh Mela, the number of Pipa bridges has been increased. In the Kumbh Mela of 2019, there were 22 Pipa bridges. At the same time, this time the number of these bridges has been increased to 30. The construction process of these 30 pontoon bridges being built on the Ganga river is being done in the largest number till date.

Meanwhile, major changes have been made at Sangam in Prayagraj. In fact, for the first time in Mahakumbh, river Ganga will be seen flowing in a stream. According to Dainik Bhaskar, the river Ganga in Prayagraj earlier reached the confluence through three streams. But this time the stream of Ganga has been united.

According to the report, islands are often formed in the middle of the river Ganga. Till now no use could be made of it, but in this Mahakumbh, the Irrigation Department has made a big change with the help of IIT Guwahati. These islands were removed from the sea with digging machines and the flow of Ganga was united.

Through this process, not only the stream of Ganga became one, but the area of Mahakumbh Mela also increased. About 87 bighas of land was earlier submerged in water. But this time it will be used for the fair. This will be the most important place of the fair. Earlier, river Ganga was visible as soon as you enter the Sangam area, but this time an empty field of about 500 meters is visible.

Akhilesh Yadav raised questions

However, politics has also started regarding this uproar. Samajwadi Party chief and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav has lodged a strong objection to this. Akhilesh wrote on Tampering is an environmental crime.”

He further said, “The purpose of installing the dredger machine in Ganga Ji in Prayagraj Mahakumbh is only to give contracts to its people and earn money through corruption through them. The place where the rivers will meet should be left to nature, for that it should be done arbitrarily and forcefully.” Changing the flow is both inappropriate and undesirable. Doing so will have a negative impact on the biology and natural ecological balance of the Ganga.

Held every 12 years, this important Hindu festival attracts millions of devotees to take a bath at the sacred Triveni Sangam, where the Yamuna, Ganga and the famous Saraswati rivers meet. Mahakumbh Mela is considered to be the largest religious event in the world. In this, pilgrims from all over the world come to Prayagraj to take a bath in the holy confluence of Yamuna, Saraswati and Ganga rivers.
