In Sidhi district, police have arrested BJP leader Ajitpal Singh Chauhan on charges of raping and blackmailing a high profile woman leader. Daniha resident Ajitpal was arrested from Rewa and presented in the court, from where he was sent to jail.

Case registered under these sections
Police have registered a case against the accused under sections 64(1), 308(5), 296, 251(3) and BNS. These sections include serious allegations of rape and extortion of money by blackmailing.
According to BJP district president Dev Kumar Singh Chauhan, Ajitpal Singh had joined the BJP only three years ago and was a primary member of the party. He had not even taken active membership yet.
Investigation has revealed that Ajitpal’s political influence was quite extensive. Till three years ago, he was counted among the prominent leaders of Congress. He also had close relations with Raja Bhaiya of Kunda and former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Amit Jogi. The proof of which is found in the pictures present on his social media profile, which are now becoming increasingly viral.

ASP said – cannot give information about sections
ASP Arvind Srivastava said, ‘The woman has filed a case under some such sections, which cannot be told over the phone. The accused has been sent to jail on Tuesday. I tried to get information regarding this matter from the Kotwali Police and the Superintendent of Police but did not get any information.

After the arrest, with the permission of BJP state president VD Sharma, BJP district president Devkumar Singh Chauhan has expelled Ajit Pal Singh Chauhan from the primary membership of the party. He believes that the party’s image has been tarnished due to arrests under various sections including rape cases.
