Vinod Kumar, the new Superintendent of Police in Kannauj, issued strict instructions to control crime in the district as soon as he took charge on Friday. Talking to journalists after taking the salute of the parade at the police line, he said that activities like gambling, illegal liquor and betting are rampant in the district.

CUG mobile will remain operational 24 hours
The new SP laid special emphasis on quick resolution of public problems at the police station level. He told that all the station in-charges have been given CUG mobiles, on which calls will be received 24 hours. In the absence of the station in-charge, day and night officers will answer the calls. A special register will be maintained of the complaints of the complainants and their disposal.
Instructions for resolution of land disputes
Instructions have been given to take women related matters seriously and coordinate with the revenue team to resolve land disputes. Also, the police teams patrolling day and night will be reviewed and reorganized. SP Binod Kumar has been transferred from Mainpuri and has taken charge of Kannauj, while former SP Amit Kumar Anand has been sent to Amroha.
