A source associated with the Sports Ministry said that Pakistan’s men’s hockey team will be allowed to come to India to participate in the Asia Cup 2025. With this decision of the Sports Ministry, Pakistan players will now be able to participate in the Junior Shooting World Cup to be held in Delhi in September and the World Para Athletics Championship to be held in September-October.
Pakistan players can come to India
A government source to news agency PTI told, “We do not oppose the teams participating in any multinational tournament in India, but bilateral matches are a separate case. International sports demands and we cannot back down. Just as Russia and Ukraine take part in international events, similarly the rest of the countries are also allowed to be included in the multinational tournaments.
International sports events are considered to be a medium for promoting peace and cooperation and the same spirit is also seen in the Olympic charter. If a country prevents the opposing country’s team from participating in a multinational tournament, then it may affect their chances of hosting such events in the future.
Doubt on Asia Cup persisted
Sources said that the Indian team played with Pakistan in the Asia Cup cricket tournament to be held in September, “The BCCI has not yet made any formal request from the Sports Ministry.” Let us know that if India and Pakistan matches, then it can be played in UAE or Sri Lanka in Nutral Vanue.
