Why bank will be closed on Thursday 3 July
The festival of Kharachi Puja will be celebrated on Thursday 3 July in Tripura. It is a major religious festival, which is celebrated with great reverence and pomp in the month of July every year. This puja is dedicated to the 14 gods of Tripura, which is called ‘Chaturdash Devta’. The festival is usually held in the Chaturdash Devta Temple located in the old Haveli area near the capital Agartala. Kharachi Puja lasts for seven days, which consists of special puja-archana, processions of gods and traditional cultural programs. It is believed that this worship destroys sins and purification of land. This festival is a unique confluence of tribal culture and Hindu traditions.

July 3 (Thursday) – Tripura: Banks will remain closed on the occasion of Kharchi Puja.
July 5 (Saturday) – Jammu and Srinagar: Banks will remain closed due to Guru Hargobind ji’s birthday.
July 14 (Monday) – Meghalaya: Banks will remain closed on the festival of Bah Dankhakam.
July 16 (Wednesday) – Uttarakhand: Banks will remain closed on the occasion of Harela festival.
July 17 (Thursday) – Meghalaya: Banks will remain closed on the death anniversary of U Tirot Singh.
July 19 (Saturday) – Tripura: Banks will remain closed due to Ker Puja.
July 28 (Monday)-Sikkim: Banks will remain closed due to Draukpa Chhe-G festival.
Apart from this, all banks across the country will be closed on 13 July second Saturday and 27 July.
