India does not do trade deal in the pressure of the deadline, the national interest is at the top: Piyush Goyal - India does not enter into any trade agrement based on deadlines national interes

India does not compromise in the pressure of the deadline, the national interest is at the top. This was said by Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal. The minister said that the trade agreement that is going to be held with the US will be approved only when it is fully finalized, appropriately concluding and when it is in the interest of the nation. Let us know that the Indian team has returned from Washington after talking on the interim trade agreement with the US. The conversation on the trade deal is in the last round and the agreement may be final before 9 July. Some issues in agriculture and auto sectors still need to be resolved, so the discussion continues.

On April 2 this year, the US was declared as a high -rate recipe tariff for many countries including India. But then US President Donald Trump gave relief on 9 April and retained tariffs at 10 percent for 90 days. This 90 -day duration ends on 9 July 2025. The rate of recipe crocal tariff for goods from India to America has been kept at 26 percent.

No plans to go to Washington

According to Goyal, “The interest of the country should always be at the top. Keeping this in mind, India is always ready to deal with developed countries.” Asked whether there could be an interim trade agreement between India and the US by 9 July 2025, Goyal’s reply was that India never makes a trade deal based on a deadline or time frame. When the deal is properly, we will approve of it. He also said that at present there is no plan to go to Washington for talks on trade.
