Siddaramaiah will remain the CM of Karnataka! DK Shivkumar did not get command, Congress put a break on speculation of leadership change - Karnataka Congress Siddaramaiah vs Dk Shivakumar No Change in Karnataka Leadership Says Randeep Surjewala

Karnataka Congress Crisis: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has got a big relief. He will currently remain on the CM’s chair. The speculation of possible leadership change in Karnataka has been rejected by the Congress leadership on Tuesday (July 1). Congress leader Randeep Surjewala announced this at a press conference in Bengaluru on Tuesday (July 1). This announcement has been made amid signs of dissatisfaction and speculation about the change of leadership within the Congress party. Putting a stop to the news of the change of leadership after a meeting with the legislators, the Congress leader said that there has been no proposal or discussion about changing the CM.

Randeep Surjewala said that the only imagination of leadership change in Karnataka is only imagination. Rajya Sabha MP Randeep Singh Surjewala was sent to Bangalore by the Congress High Command to remove the increasing restlessness and internal discord within the state unit. Surjewala said that there will be no change in the Karnataka leadership at the moment. He said that we are meeting with our MLAs and evaluating the work done in their areas. We are not taking opinion on leadership change in Karnataka.

Surjewala’s statement came after political discussion for several days about internal factionalism within the ruling Congress. Some MLAs were allegedly pressurizing the leadership to reshuffle the state. The high command has refused to command DK Shivkumar to Karnataka, ending uncertainty.

Randeep Singh Surjewala, general secretary of the All India Congress Committee and in -charge of Karnataka Affairs of the Congress, continued the conversation of meetings with the MLAs of the ruling party of the state on Tuesday for the second consecutive day. Party sources said that Surjewala will hold a meeting with the MLAs one by one for three days.

Under its first phase, Surjewala met about 20 MLAs from Bangalore city, Bengaluru Rural, Bangalore South, Chamarajanagar, Mysuru districts and about 20 MLAs from South Kannada and Kolar. He held a meeting with MLAs from Chikballapur and Kolar districts on Monday.

Raju Kagi, MLA from Kagawad, is also expected to meet the party general secretary. Kage had openly expressed his displeasure over the functioning of the government and lack of contact with the ministers. Kage had indicated resignation, citing delay in issuing development works and funds.
