As Bihar assembly elections Come closer, the political tension between the constituents of the NDA coalition is getting intensified. During an event held in Gaya, Nandlal Manjhi, a national spokesperson of Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), attacked Chirag Paswan without naming. Nandlal Manjhi said that “some people have become an actor and are now in a hurry to become the Chief Minister.” He made it clear that the NDA will contest the upcoming assembly elections under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and there is no question on the leadership.
The background of this statement is the social media post of LJP (Ram Vilas) MP Arun Bharti, in which he was indirectly taunted ‘HAM’ party supremo and former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi. He wrote that Chirag Paswan did not have the experience of resigning before proving his majority, which was a pointing to Manjhi’s resignation as Chief Minister in 2015.
Manjhi’s experience is more than someone’s age: Nandlal
This comment angered the ‘Ham’ party leaders. Nandlal Manjhi retorted, saying, “Before questioning Jitan Ram Manjhi, people should understand that Manjhi has not been in the assembly as many years, it is not even some leaders.” He further said that Manjhi has worked with 13 Chief Ministers and has become the Chief Minister and Union Minister with his struggle, not by anyone’s grace.
Nandlal said that “Jitan Ram Manjhi is not easy, for this, Jigra is needed.” He described Manjhi as the voice of Dalits, underprivileged and poor. Also said that the ‘Ham’ party has talked about social justice while staying with NDA and will continue to do further.
Finally, Nandlal advised the opponents that “should look into his firn before raising a finger on Manjhi.”
All this started with a statement by Jitan Ram Manjhi. He had said about Chirag Paswan that he lacks experience, on which Churag’s brother -in -law Bharti had retaliated at former CM Manjhi.
The wrangling is showing that NDA may be present as an alliance in Bihar, but internal differences are deepening, which can affect electoral equations.
