Will the opposition boycott Bihar assembly election? Tejashwi Yadav indicated on the voter list revision - Bihar Assembly Elections Boycott Tejashwi Yadav Hints at Voter List Revision

Leader of Opposition in Bihar Legislative Assembly and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday made a big statement, indicating the possible boycott of the upcoming elections due to the voter list revision work in the state. After a fierce debate with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over the special intensive revision (SIR) of the voter list in the state assembly, Tejashwi alleged that the ongoing exercise is “dishonest” nature.

Asked if the opposition could decide to boycott the election with mutual consent, Tejashwi told the news agency IANS, “This can also be discussed. We will see what the public wants and what is the opinion of all.” He further said, “When everything has already been decided dishonest … then what does it mean to hold elections?”

‘How is this fear of fake voters?’

Earlier, Tejashwi’s comment on SIR in Bihar Legislative Assembly Ange Nitish Kumar and the war between the two began. The Chief Minister carried out individual attacks, while both the opposition and the members of the ruling party used unparliamentary language against each other.

When Tejashwi was making a statement on the amendment process, Nitish intervened and called him a “child”. The situation deteriorated rapidly, due to which Chairman Nand Kishore Yadav had to adjourn the proceedings of the House till 2 pm, while the proceedings of the House started at 11 am and it was barely 30 minutes.

Stunning black T-shirts were seen in protest against the proceedings of the Election Commission in the state. He was allowed to make a statement on the issue on behalf of the speaker.

He said, “We are not opposed to SIR, but the way the Election Commission is adopting this process is objectionable. When elections are near, why so long? They could have done it a few months ago.”

He said, “Only two-three percent of the voters in the state can have documents that the Election Commission is asking them to show.
