The body of 35-year-old Hansram alias Suraj was found in a blue drum on the roof of a house in Khairthal-Tijara district of Rajasthan. Originally from Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, he was living in a rented room in Kishangarhbas with his wife and three children. On Sunday, August 17, the dead body was found after informing the police when the neighbors get bad odor. The authorities found a rotten corpse, with a sharp weapon on the neck.
The investigation revealed that Hansram’s wife Sunita had murdered her with the help of her lover. Both of them had allegedly placed his body in a blue drum filled with salt to hide the crime.
The couple have three children, Harshal, Nandini and Golu. This dreadful case is very similar to the infamous drum murder case of Meerut, where Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rajput killed Saurabh Rajput and his wife and her lover filled the cement from above by putting a plastic drum to the body.
Wife’s love affair with the landlady’s son
Immediately after this revelation, the police started an investigation and arrested both the main suspects, Sunita and her lover Jitendra, the landlady’s son. Both were taken into custody on Monday, 18 August.
According to preliminary investigation, Sunita and Jitendra had an illicit relationship and allegedly conspired to kill Hansraj so that they could live together.
Investigators revealed that the blue drum used to hide the body was taken by Jitendra’s mother Mithilesh about a week before the incident, which suggests that the murder was done with full planning.
It is being told that Sunita came to stay in Jitendra’s house about one and a half months ago with her husband and three children. Jitendra was also married earlier, but his wife died about 12 years ago. Since then Jitendra lives alone. When the couple came to stay at their homes with their children, Jitendra immediately befriended these people.
Jitendra first befriended Hansraj, who worked on a brick kiln and then he had a love affair with Sunita. Not only this, Jitendra and Hansraj started sitting together and started drinking alcohol.
A few weeks after friendship, Sunita, who is fond of making reel on social media, decided that he wanted to spend the rest of his life together. For this reason, he strangled Hansraj to death and escaped with the three children.
Wife and her lover strangled on Janmashtami
Sunita and Jitendra took advantage of the festival of Janmashtami and carried out the incident. Jitendra’s mother Mithilesh and her neighbor went to the temple. On returning from the temple, he saw silence in his house. He found no one at home. Mithilesh, along with his neighbors, started searching for everyone, including his son Jitendra. He felt that Hansraj, his wife, his child and Jitendra Janmashtami must have gone somewhere.
The next day, when foul smell started coming from the roof, Mithilesh informed the police. He told that Sunita had asked for this drum from him to keep water a week ago. With this information, the police were convinced that Hansraj’s murder was not suddenly, but pre-employed.
