Bihar Sir: Those who are named after voter list can now claim CEO through Aadhaar card, BIHAR SIOSE Whose Names Are Deleted from Draft Voter List Can Claim Through Aadhaar Card CEO


After the interim order given by the Supreme Court to the Election Commission, people who were left out of the draft voter list in Bihar should be allowed to file a claim through their Aadhaar card, now Bihar Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vinod Singh Gunjial issued a notification on Monday.

According to the Indian Express, the CEO of Bihar said in its order, “All such voters, who are not included in the draft list, can get their entry information in this list including the reason through their EPIC number. Such voters who are not included in the draft list published on 01.08.2025, have been displayed at all block offices, panchayat offices, panchayat offices, municipal offices and polling stations. Voters can obtain information and information related to their entry including reasons.

However, it is not clear whether such voters will have to present one of the 11 documents compulsory by the Election Commission to register their name again in the voter list.

This new order came when the Supreme Court, while hearing the petitions against SIR, directed the Election Commission to publish details of those whose names were removed from the draft voter list and also due to removal.

Opposition parties and other activists have expressed concern over the potentially incorrect name cutting during the SIR process. He claims that many people declared dead during this process, whose names were removed, are actually alive.

Out of 7.89 crore voters of Bihar, 7.24 crore names were recorded in the first draft. Out of the 65 lakh names removed from the list, 36 lakhs have permanently gone elsewhere, and 22 lakhs have been stated to be dead.
