The demand for hybrid SUVs in India is increasing rapidly. Many big car makers such as Maruti, Mahindra, Hyundai, Honda and Kia are preparing to launch 15 new models equipped with hybrid technology over the next two-and-a-half years. These vehicles are not only better for the environment but will also prove to be unique in fuel efficiency and performance.
Maruti Suzuki will launch its Grand Vitara based mid-size hybrid SUV in September 2025. This model will be available through Arena dealership instead of Nexa.
Maruti will also introduce Fronx Hybrid in 2026, which will use the company’s new strong hybrid system. It will be equipped with a 1.2 -liter Z12e petrol engine.
The Mahindra XUV3XO Hybrid SUV will be launched in 2026, which will have a 1.2 -liter turbo petrol engine and hybrid system.
Mahindra will introduce its Range Extender Hybrid SUVs in the market between 2026 and 2027, which will further strengthen her grip in the hybrid segment.
Hyundai is planning to launch the new generation Creta Hybrid and NI1I 7-seater SUV in 2027, which will provide both space and comfort with fuel efficiency.
Kia’s new generation Celtose Hybrid will arrive in 2027, along with a 3-Ro Q4i SUV will also come in the market, which will be the favorite option of the family.
Honda will introduce the ZR-V hybrid SUV in India at the end of 2025, which will prove to be a hit here due to its global popularity.
Honda intends to launch its elevated hybrid SUV by 2026 Diwali, followed by a hybrid portfolio with a 7-seater SUV.
