Where is former Vice President Dhankhar hidden, why are you silent: Rahul Gandhi

After the resignation of former Congress vice -president Jagdeep Dhankhar, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday questioned where he is “missing” and “completely silent”. Speaking at a function organized in honor of the opposition’s joint vice -presidential candidate B Sudarshan Reddy, Gandhi said that there is a story behind leaving the post of Dhankhar and surprised why the former Vice President of India is in a situation where he cannot speak and hide.

Addressing the people present in the Central Hall of the Constitution House, Rahul said, “Where have the old Vice Presidents gone? Why are they hidden?” The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha said that the day the Vice President resigned, KC Venugopal came to him and said that the Vice President has “gone.”

He said, “There is a big story of his resignation. Some of you would know it, do not know anything. But there is a story behind it.”

He said, “And then there is a story why he is hidden. Why the Vice President of India is in such a situation that he cannot even speak a word and he is hiding … Everyone knows this.”

Gandhi said, “Suddenly, the person who used to ‘spoke’ in the Rajya Sabha, is silent, completely silent. Therefore, we are living in a similar phase.”

Later, in a post on X, the Congress leader said, “Why are the former Vice President of India hiding? Why is such a situation arising that they cannot come forward and speak a word? Think, in which era we are living.”

Suddenly surprising everyone, Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned from the post of Vice President on 21 July on the first day of the onset of the monsoon session of Parliament. Meanwhile, there were indications that his deteriorating relationship with the ruling party would have forced him to step down.
