Pitra Paksha 2025: Do Pitras on this time before this time


Pitra Paksha 2025: The duration of Pitra Paksha is of great importance in Hinduism. During this time, Shraddha, Tarpan and Pindadan are performed for the peace of the soul of the ancestors. It is believed that Pitra comes to see his descendants during this period. Pleased with the worship done for him, he blesses and returns to his world. This period of 15-16 days starts from the full moon date of the month of Bhadrapada every year and ends with all the ancestral immersion on the Amavasya of Ashwin month. This year Ancestor Starting from 7 September and will end on 21 September. This time, along with Pitrupaksha, a full lunar eclipse will also be attached. At the same time, there will be solar eclipse at its conclusion. From astrological point of view, this coincidence is very rare, because such yoga is being formed after 122 years. This is the reason that Pitrupaksha of this time has special significance.

Do Shraddha before 12.57 pm

This year, at the beginning of Pitru Paksha i.e. on September 7, a full lunar eclipse is seen, which will also be seen in India. Because of this, its sutak period will also be valid. The lunar eclipse takes 9 hours in advance. The sutak of this lunar eclipse will take place from 12:57 pm in the day. Kutup Muhurta (11:30 to 12:30 in the morning) and Rauini Muhurta (12:30 to 1:30) are considered superior for tarpan. But this time, due to the lunar eclipse on the full moon date, people performing Shraddha should be performed before the sutak. If it is not possible to do so for some reason, then this method should be done after completion of the eclipse.

Do tarpan by facing south direction

Meditate on your ancestors and offer it to the south direction. For this, remove the panch grass i.e. cow, dog, crow, insect and part of the kite. After this, provide food to the Brahmin and give them Dakshina and send them off. It is believed that Brahmins in Pitra Paksha get freedom from Pitra debt by offering a banquet, tarpan and donation.

Full lunar eclipse will appear to Asia, Europe, Australia, Africa, America and New Zealand including India. It will start at 9.57 pm and run till 1; 26 pm on the night of 8 September. During this eclipse lasting for about 3.28 hours, the Moon will be completely covered in the shade of the Earth and will be seen with redness, which is called ‘blood moon’.
