The legendary director of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Kelli Finglass, brought a message of empowerment and resilience to Hattiesburg, Mississippi, as she headlined Forrest Health’s first Spirit of Women luncheon since the pandemic. The highly anticipated event, held Tuesday at the Lake Terrace Convention Center, carried the theme “The Grit Behind the Glam,” celebrating strength, confidence, and perseverance among women.

Kelli Finglass, who has led the world-famous Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders organization for over 30 years, captivated the audience with a heartfelt keynote speech. A former cheerleader herself, she reflected on her journey from performing on the field to leading one of the most recognized entertainment and sports brands in America.“The name of this event, The Spirit of Women, I’m just a big believer in that, and so this day and me being here was just meant to be, as much for me personally, as for the community,” Finglass shared. “I hope I can inspire someone.”Kelli Finglass’ words struck a chord with attendees, many of whom praised her for her authenticity and candor about the challenges women face in balancing ambition with grace. Spirit of Women celebrates its comeback with awards and recognition

This year’s luncheon marked the first Spirit of Women event since COVID-19 halted gatherings, and organizers were eager to revive the tradition. “(Spirit of Women) had annual events really up until COVID gave us a little setback, so that’s why we’re calling this our comeback event,” said Millie Swan, Forrest Health’s chief administrative officer and vice president.Four local women were honored with the “Spark of Encouragement Award” for their leadership and community service, including Sherry Duff, State Rep.
