The small town of the country is now playing a big role in the job market. According to the report, Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities such as Jaipur, Lucknow, Indore, Coimbatore, Bhubaneswar, Kochi, Surat, Nagpur and Chandigarh have increased by a year-over-21% increase in jobs during September 2025, which is more than big and 14% growth of Metro cities.

The report states that these small cities have increased employment rapidly due to e-commerce warehousing, retail expansion, customer service centers and festive tourism. This development is not only inspired by festive demand, but it also indicates a stable and strong appointment.

Marketing Vice President of Foundate, Anupama Bhimrajka said that even though the metropolis is continuously growing, non-maznagar areas have played a lead role in employment opportunities. This change indicates decentralized and diverse employment scenario, which opens even more opportunities for job seekers.

Employment has also increased in Metro cities like Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Bangalore, but this rate remained limited to 14%. There was a demand for jobs in IT, banking, media, and entertainment sectors, while technology, finance and marketing professionals were also strong.

The sales and marketing sectors recorded an increase of 5% year-on-year during the festive season, followed by a 4% increase in customer service and operation. Creative and media sectors also increased by 4%, while technology and product roles were stable. In addition, there was a slight increase in the finance and accounting sector.

It is clear from this report that small and medium cities of India are rapidly becoming new centers of employment, which raise new hope for the country’s economic development and employment opportunities.
