Shalin Bhanot archives all his Instagram posts, shares a black image ahead of 'Bigg Biss 16' | Television News

New Delhi: As per grapevine, actor Shalin Bhanot is all set to join the Bigg Boss bandwagon this year.

The actor who was last seen on television making a special appearance in Naagin 4, has dabbled with everything from reality shows to fiction on television.  While our eyes and ears are open to finding out about the much-touted list of the season, we checked out Shalin’s social media feed and we’re in for a surprise.

Shalin has archived all of his Instagram posts making us wonder why? Others in the past who have taken this route include Deepika Padukone, the late Sushant Singh Rajput, Rana Daggubati, John Abraham, Adnan Sami, etc, leaving their fans baffled, and surprised.

Is this a confirmation that the actor is doing the reality show and looking to start with a clean slate or is he going to be doing a proper detox from social media and yet be going in the house.

Most contestants leave teams behind to handle their social media but we wonder what’s happening with Shalin and moreover the cryptic black image, implying there is more than meets the eye.

It may take another day or two for us to understand what the actor is up to but in the meantime, we’ve got you covered here with the latest buzz on Bigg Boss.

Watch: MS Dhoni Shows Off His Golf Skills In Kapil Devs Tournament

MS Dhoni tried his hands at the game of golf on Friday. The former India captain was invited by legendary cricketer Kapil Dev on the latter’s golf tournament – ‘Kapil Dev – Grant Thornton Invitational 2022’. The event shared a video on social media in which Dhoni could be seen playing golf. What made it all look more exciting was the fact that Dhoni used his batting calibre on the golf course. The wicketkeeper-batter swung the golf stick to take a shot in a similar manner as he does during his batting while trying to go for big hits.

Dev, who was also present at the venue, had earlier shared a picture alongside Dhoni. “When cricketers turn golfers,” he captioned the post.

Kapil Dev and Dhoni are the only Indian captains to win the 50-over World Cup. While India won their maiden title in 1983 under the captaincy of Dev, Dhoni had led the team to their second World Cup triumph in 2011 on home soil.

Dhoni, of course, was also the captain when India won the 2007 T20 World Cup title.

Earlier this month, both Dev and Dhoni were in attendance to watch the US Open quarterfinals between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. Kapil and Dhoni were spotted in the stands of the Arthur Ashe Stadium as the duo witnessed the five-set thriller between third seed Alcaraz, who went on to win the title, and 11th seed Sinner.

While Kapil Dev played for India from 1978 to 1994, Dhoni started his international career in 2004 and hanged his boots up in 2020. However, the latter was still active as a player in IPL 2022, playing for Chennai Super Kings.

World Vegetarian Day 2022: From helping in weight loss to keeping blood pressure in control, here are five health benefits of consuming a plant-based diet to know of

WORLD VEGETARIAN DAY 2022: Observed annually on October 1, World Vegetarian Day is celebrated so that people can be made aware of the humanitarian benefits of a vegetarian diet and its ensuing health benefits. In the present situation, where each person is taking good care of their health and working towards building their immunity, a plant-based diet is a really good way to get a head start in this route — your body as well as the environment will thank you.

It was in 1977, when World Vegetarian Day was founded by the North American Vegetarian Society (NAVS). Taking a step further, the International Vegetarian Union endorsed the World Vegetarian Day in 1978. In fact, the entire month of October is ‘Month of Vegetarian Food’ — an event which was started by the International Vegetarian Union.

On World Vegetarian Day, here are five health benefits of consuming a plant-based diet to know of:

  1. A Plant-Based Diet May Lower Your Blood Pressure
Several studies have shown consuming a plant-based diet not only reduces the risk of hypertension but also lowers one’s blood pressure.
  2. Leads To A Healthy Heart
High consumption of meat can lead to heart issues as it contains saturated fat. Hence, reducing meat consumption and increasing your intake of plant-based food can enhance your heart health.
  3. Helps In Weight Loss Too
Apparently, an individual’s risk of obesity decreases when they replace eating meat with a plant-based diet. It has also been observed that those consuming a plant-based diet tend to weigh less. Hence, it is important to maintain a healthy diet.
  4. It May Also Improve Your Cholesterol
A healthy diet is a must to keep all cholesterol related problems at bay. Shifting to a plant-based diet can reduce bad cholesterol in your body, which can further reduce chances of heart attack, stroke, or heart disease. Time to switch to a plant-based diet?

  5. Helps In Diabetes Prevention And Treatment
Plant based diets prevent and combat diabetes in two ways: by improving insulin sensitivity and reducing insulin resistance. Those who consume vegetarian diets that include dairy and eggs have a lower risk of type 2 diabetes than meat eaters.

You're free to tweet: Messages reveal Elon Musk- Parag Agrawal fall out | World News

Messages between Tesla chief Elon Musk and important place holders at Twitter- Jack Dorsey, board chair Bret Taylor and current head Parag Agrawal – were released during an ongoing documentation ahead of Elon Musk’s trial against Twitter.

Elon Musk and Twitter are due for a trial in court In mid-October which will decide on the former’s $44 billion acquisition of the social media platform.

In new messages that were revealed, Elon Musk told Parag Agarwal that he did not think he should be the “boss of anyone”.

Elon Musk said, “Frankly, I hate doing mgmt [sic] stuff. I kinda don’t think I should be the boss of anyone. But I love helping solve technical/product design problems,” adding that he wanted to be treated “like an engineer instead of a CEO.”

In a reply by Parag Agrawal to Elon Musk, he said, “You are free to tweet ‘is Twitter dying?’ or anything else about Twitter – but it’s my responsibility to tell you that it’s not helping me make Twitter better in the current context.”

“Next time we speak, I’d like to you provide you [sic] perspective on the level of the internal distraction right now and how it [sic] hurting our ability to do work,” he added.

Elon Musk responded, one minute later, “What did you get done this week? I’m not joining the board. This is a waste of time. Will make an offer to take Twitter private.”

Elon Musk’s messages with Jack Dorsey were also revealed in which Elon Musk blamed Parag Agrawal.

“You and I are in complete agreement,” Elon Musk messaged Mr Dorsey. “Parag is just moving far too slowly and trying to please people who will not be happy no matter what he does.”

Jack Dorsey replied back, “At least it became clear that you can’t work together. That was clarifying.”

'Even I Can't Afford Your Car': Nitin Gadkari To Mercedes-Benz

Nitin Gadkari urged Mercedes-Benz to produce more cars in India to reduce cost. (File)

Mumbai:

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Friday asked German premium car maker Mercedes-Benz to produce more cars locally and emphasised that such a move reduces the cost besides increasing affordability.

Speaking at the rollout of Mercedes-Benz India’s first locally assembled EQS 580 4MATIC EV from its Chakan manufacturing facility in Pune, Gadkari, who is the Minister for Road Transport and highways, said that there is a huge market for electric vehicles in the country.

“You increase the production, only then it is possible to reduce cost. We are middle-class people, even I can’t afford your car,” the minister said.

The latest EV from the German car maker comes with a price tag of Rs 1.55 crore.

The EQS 580 joins the company’s EQC SUV and AMG EQS53 4MATIC flagship EV.

Mercedes-Benz India started its electro-mobility drive in India with the launch of its all-electric SUV EQC as a fully imported unit in October 2020 priced at Rs 1.07 crore.

There are a total of 15.7 lakh registered electric vehicles in the country, according to Mr Gadkari.

There is a huge market with the overall EV sales rising 335 per cent, he said, adding that with the express highways coming up in the country, Mercedes-Benz India will get a good market for these cars.

The Indian Automobile size currently stands at Rs 7.8 lakh crore, in which exports are to the tune of Rs 3.5 lakh crore and “my dream is to make it a Rs 15-lakh crore industry”, he noted.

Mr Gadkari also mooted the idea of Mercedes-Benz setting up joint ventures for establishing vehicle scrapping units, which will help the company reduce its parts’ cost by as much as 30 per cent.

“As per our records, we have 1.02 crore vehicles ready for scrapping. We have only 40 units. My estimate is that we can open four scrapping units in one district. And so easily, we can open 2,000 such units,” he said.

“My suggestion is that you can set up some such units which will give you raw materials for recycling which will reduce your component cost by 30 per cent.” The government is encouraging such facilities, “and it is important that we will get cooperation from your side”, the minister said.

The EQS 580 4MATIC offers an 857 kms range (ARAI certified). The high power density of the lithium-ion battery comes with a usable energy content of 107.8 kWh and is equipped with a powerful 400-volt battery manufactured using the latest lithium-ion technology.

We will negotiate, but with the new president,” Zelensky said.

India's 'Deft' Diplomacy Forces China to Withdraw Proposal Against AUKUS Nuclear Plan at IAEA

China tried to get the resolution passed at the general conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) which took place in Vienna from September 26 to 30.

India’s ‘deft’ diplomacy was on display on the international stage that forced China to withdraw its resolution against AUKUS – the trilateral security pact between Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

China tried to get the resolution passed at the general conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) which took place in Vienna from September 26 to 30. India however took an ‘objective view of the initiative, recognising the soundness the role of the technical evaluation by IAEA.’

According to PTI sources, China argued that the AUKUS initiative was in violation of their responsibilities under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). In addition, China also criticised the IAEA in this regard. The draft resolution opposed AUKUS for seeking to provide Australia with nuclear-powered submarines, though these will be armed with conventional weapons.

“The Indian Mission to the IAEA in Vienna worked closely with many IAEA member states in this regard,” reports PTI attributing it to sources adding that India’s “deft and impactful” diplomacy was deeply appreciated by IAEA member states, particularly the AUKUS partners.

India’s considered role helped many smaller countries take a clear stand on the proposal by China. Realising that its resolution would not get majority support, China was forced to withdrew its draft resolution on September 30.

NASA Plans To Launch Its Moon Mega-Rocket In November

NASA Plans To Launch Its Moon Mega-Rocket In November

Nasa said it was preparing its next launch window for between November 12 and November 27.

Washington:

NASA said Friday it would try to launch its Moon mega-rocket in November, without committing to a precise date for the much-delayed Artemis 1 mission.

The US space agency, which was forced to postpone its latest liftoff attempt due to massive Hurricane Ian which hammered Florida this week, announced it was preparing its next launch window for between November 12 and November 27.

“Over the coming days,” NASA said in a blog post, the team will assess conditions and necessary work and “identify a specific date for the next launch attempt.”

Officials had so far refused to completely shut the door on an earlier attempt in October.

The SLS rocket, the most powerful ever designed by NASA, had to be returned to its storage hangar at Kennedy Space Center on Tuesday in order to shelter it from the approach of Hurricane Ian.

The storm devastated parts of Florida but the rocket itself suffered no damage, NASA said.

Planning efforts for the November launch window will allow “time for employees at Kennedy to address the needs of their families and homes after the storm” and in the run up to the next mission attempt.

Raising the 98-meter-high (320 foot) rocket and transporting it to its launch pad, before configuring it for takeoff, will also take days.

NASA has already made two attempts to launch the uncrewed Artemis 1 mission, in late August and early September, but both had to be scrapped at the last minute due to technical problems.

In development for more than a decade, SLS has never flown before.

Fifty years after the last mission of the Apollo program, Artemis is NASA’s new flagship program.

Artemis 1 will be used to ensure that the Orion capsule, at the top of the rocket, is safe to transport a crew to the Moon in the future.

International Day of Older Persons 2022: Staying physically and mentally healthy is important for all. Regardless of age, everyone should take care of their health

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF OLDER PERSONS 2022: Older people are blessed with more wisdom, experience, gratitude, love, and strength. They serve as inspiration to the family members and society at large, with their vast knowledge and experience of varied topics. Instead of treating them with kindness, dignity and affection, and showing care, many older people are forgotten, ignored, or sent to old-age homes by their families.

In a bid to promote equal rights and freedoms for older persons, the United Nations (UN) came up with the International Day of Older Persons which is observed on the first Monday of October. This year, the day will be observed on October 1.

Staying physically and mentally healthy is important for all. Regardless of age, everyone should take care of their health. However, an older people’s body needs extra care as it undergoes many changes which may make them prone to falling sick like catching a cold or flu, pneumonia, bronchitis, asthma, diabetes, etc.

On the International Day of Older Persons, here are a few tips for them to remain healthy:

  1. Being active
Physical activity is good for the body and its immune system. You do not have to indulge in strenuous activities. Consider cycling, walking, swimming, or low-impact aerobics for at least 20-30 minutes each day. Engage your muscles to make them strong by lifting weights or doing yoga as per your body’s capacity.
  2. Supplements
With age, doctors sometimes recommend supplements to ensure that your body is getting proper nutrition. You may be advised to take calcium, Vitamin D, B6, or B-12. All these supplements and multivitamins boost your immune system to keep you healthy. Some supplements help support a healthy immune system. Before taking a supplement, always ask your doctor if it’s safe, especially if you’re on medication.
  3. Healthy Diet
Limit your fried food and sugary intake. Make sure to include fresh and local produce fruits and vegetables in your diet along with lean meats. Antioxidants from fruits and vegetables protect your cells from damage while the other nutrients from these food items will provide your body with the right nutrients.
  4. Frequent Health Check-ups
Schedule a routine check-up or annual check-up for necessary health concerns. Sometimes conditions like diabetes and heart issues can go undetected. Hence, a regular check-up is important to detect any health issues at the early stage. Visit the doctor if you feel uneasy or have cold and flu symptoms as with age, the immune system weakens, and fighting off such viruses may get more difficult.
  5. Get proper rest
Getting proper sleep can reduce your stress levels, give your body time to repair itself, and build a stronger immunity system.
