Google Ends Video Carousel Structured Data Test
Google has ended support for the video carousel (limited access) markup documentation and the associated rich results because after testing the structured data they realized that it wasn’t useful at scale. Site publishers who use this specific structured data don’t necessarily have to remove it, other search engines may find it useful. However, Google won’t use it for rich results.
Google removed a paragraph from the section of the documentation that was labeled “Video with key moments in search results”.
Removed paragraph:
Video host carousel (limited access): Enable users to explore your video gallery pages by adding ItemList structured data. This feature is currently limited to a small set of providers. Google Search may automatically show a host carousel for your site without you having to add ItemList structured data.”
Google also removed the entire structured data example.

However, certain entities are important to your business goals and outcomes. This content is often what you need people and search engines to know about so that you can convert them into customers or inform them about your brand.
Common key entities often include your organization, services, products, people, and brand, but this ultimately depends on your business objectives.
For example, if you are a healthcare provider looking to establish a trusted reputation and drive appointment bookings through your website, your key entities could include your organization, medical facilities, physicians, and services offered.
Once you’ve identified which entities are important to your organization, you can find the page on your site that best represents them. Ideally, each page would define one entity and how it relates to other entities on the site.
2. Use The Schema.org Vocabulary To Describe The Entities
When you implement Schema Markup on a page, you are using the Schema.org vocabulary to make a series of statements that describe the entity. The Schema.org type categorizes the entity, while the Schema.org property describes the entity.

Even though each web page is home to a unique entity, the content on your webpage might mention other entities that you’ve defined on other pages of your site.
If you want to build a content knowledge graph, you have to showcase how the entities on your website are connected and provide context using the right schema.org property.
This goes beyond a hyperlink connecting both pages using anchor text. With Schema Markup, you use the Schema.org properties that best describe the relationship to connect the entities.
For example, if the Physician works for the organization HealthNetwork, we can use the memberOf property to state that the Physician is a memberOf the Organization HealthNetwork.
Image from author, March 2024When you look at the content on the page, if there are URLs linked to take you to another step in the journey, these are entities that should be linked within the Schema Markup. For physicians, this may be the service line pages, the hospitals where they practice, etc.
This provides search engines with more contextual information about the physician, which enables them to answer more complex queries.
Using these basics, you have started building your content knowledge graph. This should be done in addition to trying to achieve rich results. However, the properties you use to connect your entities are likely different from Google’s required properties for the rich result.
4. Link Your Entities To Other External Authoritative Knowledge Bases To Disambiguate Them
In addition to connecting the entities on your site, you can further define the entities mentioned on your pages by linking them to known entities on external authoritative knowledge bases like Wikipedia, Wikidata, and Google’s Knowledge Graph.
This is known as entity linking.
Entity linking can help you define the entities mentioned in your text more explicitly so that search engines can disambiguate the entity identified on your site with greater confidence and showcase your page for more relevant queries.
At Schema App, we’ve tested how entity linking can impact SEO. We found that disambiguating entities like places resulted in pages performing better on [near me] and other location-based search queries.
Our experiments also showed that entity linking can help pages show up for more relevant non-branded search queries, increasing click-through rates to the pages.
Here’s an example of entity linking. If your page talks about “Paris”, it can be confusing to search engines because there are several cities in the world named Paris.
If you are talking about the city of Paris in Ontario, Canada, you can use the sameAs property to link the Paris entity on your site to the known Paris, Ontario entity on Wikipedia, Wikidata, and Google’s Knowledge Graph.

Rich results can come and go.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has fined Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra Rs. 98 crore assets have been seized. This includes Shilpa Shetty’s Juhu flat and bungalow and equity shares registered in the name of Raj Kundra. The case relates to money laundering in the 2002 Bitcoin Ponzi scheme scam. ED gave this information through a post on X (Twitter).
The ED initiated the investigation on the basis of multiple FIRs lodged with Maharashtra Police and Delhi Police against Variable Tech Pvt Ltd and accused late Amit Bhardwaj, Ajay Bhardwaj, Vivek Bhardwaj, Simpi Bhardwaj, Mahendra Bhardwaj and others.
In November 2023, Raj became emotional at the trailer launch of his debut film UT69.
This case is related to a Bitcoin Ponzi scheme
The investigating agency alleged that the accused collected huge amounts of money from people in the form of Bitcoin (worth Rs 6600 crore in 2017 alone) with a false promise of 10% return every month. These bitcoins were supposed to be used in bitcoin mining, but the promoters cheated investors and hid the illegally obtained bitcoins in online wallets.
The deal fell through and the investors were not given their benefits. It was claimed that Kundra received 285 bitcoins from Gain Bitcoin Ponzi mastermind and promoter Amit Bharadwaj to set up a Bitcoin mining farm in Ukraine. Which he still owns, with a current value of over Rs 150 crore. The first complaint in the case was filed on 11 June 2019 and the supplementary complaint was filed on 14 February 2024. After which the special PMLA court took action on this. Earlier, ED had seized assets worth Rs 69 crore.

Raj was arrested in July 2021 for creating and uploading obscene films on mobile apps. He got bail after about 2 months, then in 2022 he appealed to the CBI claiming his innocence. Raj told the public his entire story from the time of the allegations to the two months he spent in jail through the film ‘UT 69’ last year.

National award winning Bollywood director Dibakar Banerjee has remembered late actor Sushant Singh Rajput in a recent interview. The director said that no one remembered the actor after his death. Everyone was busy finding controversy in the news of his death.
The film ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshi’ was the fourth film of Sushant’s career.

In an interview to YouTuber Siddharth Kanan, Dibakar said, ‘When he died, all the news channels were looking for the cause of his death. I distanced myself from all these things. I was listening to everyone but no one said that the young actor had passed away. No one missed him. The grief of his demise was nowhere to be seen. Everyone was busy looking for controversy.
‘No one was talking about his films’
Dibakar continued – ‘No one said that, coming from outside, this boy has made a name for himself by doing TV, films, everyone was only talking about what was the conspiracy, who gave the drugs, who did the murder’.
Sushant worked in a total of 12 films in his 7-year career.

The director went on to say – ‘Where was the mourning meeting held in which we remembered Sushant? All the people who loved him could get together and show his films. Can talk about it. We can talk about his good memories. But nothing happened.
