CEO who laid off 80% employees globally for refusing to adopt AI, says after two years that he…

IgniteTech CEO Eric Vaughan stands by his radical decision to replace nearly 80% of his workforce in 2023 after employees resisted the company’s aggressive artificial intelligence adoption mandate. The enterprise software executive told Fortune he would repeat the mass personnel overhaul despite describing it as “extremely difficult.”Vaughan’s dramatic restructuring began in early 2023 when he declared AI an “existential threat” to businesses and implemented “AI Mondays” – weekly workdays where employees could only focus on artificial intelligence projects. When hundreds of workers pushed back against the company-wide transformation, Vaughan chose replacement over persuasion.

Technical staff resisted AI transformation most

Surprisingly, technical staff showed the most resistance to AI adoption, according to Vaughan’s Fortune interview. These employees voiced concerns about AI limitations rather than embracing its capabilities, while marketing and sales teams proved more receptive to the new tools and training programs. The CEO invested 20% of payroll in mass AI education initiatives, including reimbursements for AI tools and prompt engineering classes. However, employee sabotage and flat refusal to participate led to the wholesale personnel changes that reshaped the company over 12 months.

CEO’s mass firing strategy delivered 75% profit margins

The painful transformation delivered substantial returns by 2024. IgniteTech launched two patent-pending AI solutions and maintained near 75% EBITDA while completing a major acquisition, demonstrating the financial viability of Vaughan’s aggressive approach.Research from AI platform WRITER reveals Vaughan’s experience reflects broader industry challenges, with one-third of workers actively sabotaging corporate AI initiatives. The study shows 41% of millennial and Gen Z employees resist AI implementation through various forms of non-compliance.Despite the success metrics, Vaughan doesn’t recommend his mass replacement strategy to other leaders, calling it an unintended consequence of cultural resistance rather than a planned approach.

China foreign minister in India: Wang Yi meets S Jaishankar; 'Differences must not become disputes' | India News

India-China Talks: Jaishankar And Wang Yi To Meet In High-Stakes Diplomacy Amid Tariff War

NEW DELHI: External affairs minister S jaishankar on Monday met his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in New Delhi and held a meeting. In his meeting with Wang, Jaishankar said that the differences must not become disputes between the two countries. “The fight against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations is another major priority. I look forward to our exchange of views. Overall, it is our expectation that our discussions would contribute to building a stable cooperative and forward-looking relationship between India and China, one that serves both our interests and addresses our concerns.”Wang began a two-day visit to India on Monday to attend the 24th round of Special Representatives (SRs) talks on the border issue with National Security Adviser Ajit Doval. The meeting follows Doval’s December trip to Beijing for the 23rd round of talks, held weeks after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed in Kazan to revive dialogue mechanisms during the BRICS summit.Wang’s visit comes ahead of PM Modi’s trip to China to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Tianjin from August 31 to September 1. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said Wang’s visit reflects Beijing’s intent to implement understandings reached between the two leaders, maintain high-level exchanges, deepen political trust, expand cooperation, and properly manage differences to ensure stable development of bilateral ties. Mao described the SR-level dialogue as a crucial channel for advancing boundary negotiations. She noted that the previous round in Beijing produced agreements on delimitation, border management, and cross-border cooperation. Both sides, she said, have been working through diplomatic channels this year to implement those outcomes. Looking ahead, Mao said China is prepared to continue constructive engagement with India on the basis of existing consensus to jointly preserve peace and stability along the border.

‘A drug addict stole them to fund his addiction’: How West Bengal Police recovered 295 medals of Bula Choudhury; Padma Shri brooch still missing

HINDMOTOR: Forty-eight hours after former swimming legend Bula Choudhury reported a theft at her Hindmotor house, in which all the medals she won at competitions were stolen, Chandannagar Commissionerate and CID on Sunday announced the recovery of 295 medals, along with two idols of Shiva and Buddha. Medals stolen in 2014 were also recovered. The only article that has not been found is a Padma Shri brooch. She, however, told police she would check if the article is at her Kolkata home.“I am so delighted. Those medals are invaluable and represent the sweat, toil, and success in a competitive sport in which I gave the best years of my life,” she told TOI. An emotional Choowdhury could not hold back her tears when police showed her the recovered medals. DC Arnab Biswas said the thief, Krishna Chowdhury from Rishra, broke into the house at Debaipukur in Hindmotor between Aug 12 and 14 and stole the medals as well as taps from washrooms in the house.A special team under the direction of police commissioner Amit P Javalgi, with assistance from CID, carried out the investigation and apprehended Krishna. Following interrogation, 295 medals were recovered. Sources said Krishna was a drug addict and stole the medals and taps as they were made of metal and could fetch money to fund his addiction.“He broke into the house on Aug 12 and stole a few things. We suspect he kept watch on the house to see if the theft was detected. When it was not, he entered again on Aug 14 and emptied out the rest,” said Biswas.Choudhury, who had became distraught after the theft, profusely thanked the police for acting promptly. The ace swimmer, who has been considering turning the Hindmotor house into a museum, is reconsidering the plan following the incident. The house was burgled twice earlier as well. In 2014, there were two thefts in a span of seven months. This time, the theft was detected on Friday when her brother went to the Hindmotor house to get it cleaned as she was supposed to visit it on Sunday. Choudhury last visited the house a month ago. Since then, it was under lock and key.The thief had entered through the rear door. The cabinet containing all medals she won between 1979 and 1995 was cleaned out. These included 10 golds she won at two editions of the SAF Games in Kathmandu and Colombo.

Harjinder Singh faces deportation: Trucker who took reckless U-turn in Florida killed 3; was in US illegally since 2018

A shocking crash caught on video has left three people dead after a minivan ploughed into a tractor-trailer making a reckless U-turn on the Florida Turnpike last week, authorities said. The truck driver — identified as Harjinder Singh, an illegal migrant — has been charged with three counts of vehicular homicide. The fatal collision unfolded around 3 pm Tuesday near Fort Pierce, when Singh allegedly attempted to cut across the highway through an “official use only” median pass. His truck’s massive trailer blocked all lanes of oncoming traffic, leaving drivers with no room to stop or swerve.

Footage from inside the cab showed a black minivan speeding toward the trailer, with only seconds to impact. The van smashed into the trailer at full force, wedging underneath in a devastating collision that reduced the vehicle to mangled metal.Photos from the scene showed the van torn apart, its roof peeled back, and its contents scattered across the highway. Emergency crews used hydraulic jacks to lift the trailer and recover the victims, while Singh was seen standing nearby with a blank expression. Two passengers in the minivan died instantly, while the driver was pulled alive from the wreck but succumbed to injuries at a local hospital. Authorities identified the victims as a 37-year-old woman from Pompano Beach, a 30-year-old man from Florida City, and a 54-year-old man from Miami, Treasure Coast Newspapers reported.Investigators said Singh, who carried a California commercial driver’s license, has been in the US illegally since crossing the Mexican border in 2018. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has issued a detainer against him, according to CBS 12. If convicted of homicide, he faces prison time in Florida before deportation.“Three people lost their lives as a result of his recklessness, and countless friends and family members will experience the pain of their loss forever,” said Dave Kerner to CBS 12, executive director of the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.Singh remains in custody on state and federal charges.

Zelensky Advised Not To ‘PROVOKE’ Trump As NATO Leaders Worry About Another Shouting Match

In high-stakes meeting between US President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart in Washington, Volodymyr Zelenskyyis likely to show up in more formal attire. According to a designer who earlier collaborated with Zelenskyy told Fox News that he most likely “will not appear in a polo.” Ukrainian designer Elvira Gasanova said, “I think he will choose a black military suit or a military-style shirt with trousers — perhaps a jacket. After getting humiliated at the White House earlier for his informal attire, Gasanova said that this time he is likely to choose “a more serious look — though less symbolic.”“After the recent ‘no suit’ drama, he will likely approach this question differently,” she told Fox News. Earlier in February, the world witnessed a drama after a reporter questioned Zelenskyy over his informal outfit in White House. “Why don’t you wear a suit? You’re at the highest level in this country’s office, and you refuse to wear a suit,” one reporter asked. “… Do you own a suit?”Gasanova, who is the founder of Ukrainian fashion brands GASANOVA and DAMIRLI, revealed that Zelenskyy doesn’t have a personal stylist, unlike other world leaders.
