Brittany Mahomes doubles down on food allergy advocacy after scary ER moment with son

Patrick Mahomes’ wife Brittany’s advocacy isn’t just words. She’s partnered with organizations including Kaléo, the Mahomies Foundation and FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education) to amplify resources and share lifesaving information. She re-shared an @foodallergy post on Instagram that listed “six key ways to be an allergy ally in school,” and followed up with a series of Instagram stories that break those tips down into everyday actions families and schools can adopt.“The safety of your child is of the utmost importance when you’re out and about.” She has also emphasized preparedness: “As a mom of two young children with food allergies, I know how important it is to be prepared for an allergic emergency.” Brittany’s work highlights devices like AUVI-Q, the kid-focused epinephrine auto-injector from Kaléo, which doctors prescribed for her children and which can be critical during severe reactions.

Real lessons from a terrifying emergency

Brittany has been candid about the moment that sharpened her mission. Recounting Bronze’s reaction to nuts, she explained, “With Bronze, I was doing early introduction,” and described how symptoms escalated: Bronze “became very irritable, very fussy,” and shortly after, Brittany noticed hives and welts. “Just seeing his entire body covered in welts and hives and him being so uncomfortable,” she said, called the experience “probably one of the scariest moments” of her life. 7th Pay Commission: Government can give the gift of DA hike before Diwali, know full details - 7th Pay Commission Diwali Da Hike for Central Government Employees and Pensioners

7th Pay Commission: The government may soon give benefits of Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) to the central government employees and pensioners. This may be the last DA Hike under the 7th Pay Commission, as the government is planning to implement the 8th Pay Commission from 1 January 2026. Let us know how long government employees can get the DA Hike gift and how much it is likely to increase.

When will you get DA Hike?

The government revises DA twice a year. First time in January and second time in July. The new rate will be applicable from July 1. However, it is usually declared in September or October. Employees get arrears for July, August and September.

Government employees will expect that the government announce the DA Hike in September before the festive season. This time Diwali is on 20 October. In such a situation, the government can add arrears with the salary of September and give Diwali gift to government employees and pensioners.

How to decide da

DA is calculated based on the consumer price index (CPI-IW) of industrial workers. Labor Bureau releases this data every month. The government determines DA under the formula of the 7th Pay Commission using the average CPI-IW of the last 12 months.

Currently DA is 55%. According to media reports, it is expected to increase from 3% to 4%. If the government approves an increase of 3% -4%, DA can reach 58% -59%.

How much will be the benefit?

If DA increases 3%, the monthly income of an entry-level employee with ₹ 18,000 will increase by about ₹ 540. Similarly, pensioners with ₹ 9,000 basic pension will get a profit of ₹ 270. However, it will completely depend on the government how much DA increases. The cabinet can take a final decision in September -October.

Crimea recognition, eastern Ukraine autonomy, language control: Putin’s price for peace — and what Russia promises in return

Crimea recognition, eastern Ukraine autonomy, language control: Putin’s price for peace — and what Russia promises in return

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signalled he would agree to halt Russia’s war in Ukraine, but only under conditions that would force Kyiv to give up large areas of territory and recognise Moscow’s hold over Crimea, according to multiple reports. The proposals, discussed during a summit with US President Donald Trump at an air force base in Alaska, would mark the first time since 2022 that Russia has set out terms directly in front of Washington. Trump later described that meeting as “very productive” and insisted he and Putin had “largely agreed” on a framework for peace. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned that concessions on territory are unacceptable and has instead pressed for “ironclad security guarantees” ahead of his planned meeting with Trump in Washington on August 18.

Land-for-peace proposal and Crimea recognition

Reuters reported that Putin’s plan would see Ukraine withdraw fully from the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, while Russia pledged to freeze advances in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia. In return, Moscow would relinquish small pockets of territory it occupies in northern Sumy and Kharkiv. Here are the Russian demands, as reported by Reuters:

  • Ukraine to fully withdraw from the Donetsk and Luhansk regions
  • Russia to retain control over Donetsk and Luhansk
  • Russia to return small occupied areas in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions (~440 sq km)
  • Recognition of Russian sovereignty over Crimea
  • No ceasefire until a comprehensive deal is reached
  • Lifting of at least some Western sanctions on Russia
  • Official status for the Russian language in parts of or all of Ukraine
  • Right of the Russian Orthodox Church to operate freely in Ukraine

Ukraine would also be barred from Nato membership, though alternative “Article 5-style” security guarantees are under discussion, European officials told AFP.According to the New York Times, Trump briefed European leaders that Putin demanded Ukraine “leave Donbas entirely”, aligning with Moscow’s long-standing position. The Financial Times reported that Putin privately told Trump he could halt fighting if his “core demands” were met.

European unease and Zelenskyy’s stance

European leaders were left uneasy. Former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt wrote that the Alaska meeting was “a distinct win for Putin… a distinct setback for Trump.” Fiona Hill, a former US national security official, argued Trump had emerged weaker: “He came out of the meeting without a ceasefire — the one thing he had been pushing for.”For Kyiv, the deal remains untenable. Zelenskyy has repeatedly said Ukraine’s constitution prevents ceding land and warned that Donbas could become a launchpad for further Russian aggression. Still, he has left the door open to a three-way summit with Trump and Putin.Putin, meanwhile, praised what he called “very frank” talks and welcomed Trump’s willingness to “seek a speedy end to military actions.” Yet as AFP noted, Russia continued drone and missile strikes on Ukraine even during the Alaska summit, underscoring the fragility of any negotiation.

Do you know that no case can be initiated against election commissioners. In no court in India can there be a case against them. This law was made in 2023. Why was this law made at this time?” Rahul alleged this law was made as PM Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah “want to ensure that no one can take any action against EC as it is helping them and is indulging in ‘vote chori’ along with them”. “EC is asking an affidavit from me but does not ask Anurag Thakur (BJP) for an affidavit when he says the same thing,” he alleged. On X, Rahul said, “EC declared living people as dead, removed from voter list people who had recently voted in LS elections. EC once again refuses to deliver digital, machine-readable voter rolls. Earlier, vote was stolen stealthily, stealthily and now, it is being done openly in the name of SIR.”Congress’ Jairam Ramesh on X said “as far as the CEC’s threats to Rahul are concerned, all that needs to be said is that the LoP had simply stated facts revealed by EC’s own data.” He said, “This was the first time this ‘new’ EC was speaking directly and not planting through sources” and that the presser came “three days after SC rejected every argument made by EC to prevent publication of the 65 lakh deleted voters during SIR”.

Torrent Power inaugurated the Green Hydrogen Plant in Gorakhpur - Torrent Power Inaugurates Green Hydrogen Plant in Gorkhpur

Torrent Power has announced that Honorable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Green Hydrogen Plant of Torrent Group in Gorakhpur. The annual production capacity of the Green Hydrogen Plant is 72 TPA.

Green hydrogen produced in the plant will be mixed with natural gas in the city gas distribution infrastructure of Torrent Gas in Gorakhpur, which will have up to 2 percent concentrations. This mixed gas will be supplied to domestic homes, CNG stations and industries through existing natural gas pipeline networks. The plant is the first of its kind in Uttar Pradesh and the largest green hydrogen and natural gas mix project in the City Gas Distribution Sector in the country.

Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) has authorized Torrent Gas to provide compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas (PNG) in Gorakhpur, Sant Kabirnagar and Kushinagar districts. The company has already set up 32 CNG stations and supplies gas to more than 12,000 domestic homes and 73 industries and commercial installations in the region. The intention of Torrent is to greatly expand its gas distribution infrastructure in the region.

Green hydrogen is produced through water electrolysis using renewable energy sources such as solar, wind or hydroelectric. Unlike hydrogen made of fossil fuel, green hydrogen does not have any direct carbon emissions, which makes it a clean energy carrier. Mixing it with natural gas reduces carbon footprint and uses existing natural gas infrastructure, which helps to increase the initial demand for hydrogen.

Shri Yogi Adityanath congratulated the Torrent Group for bringing green hydrogen to Gorakhpur and said that the continuous production of green hydrogen is an important part of the National Green Hydrogen Mission 2030. He said that Uttar Pradesh’s goal is 1 MMTPA Green Hydrogen Production and has set a specific policy to support possible investments in the state. He also mentioned that the availability of PNG has given great relief to the people of Gorakhpur, especially housewives due to its convenience, security and savings. Increasing use of CNG in the form of transport fuel has helped fight pollution and save costs for common people. Various industries and commercial establishments in Gorakhpur are also now using natural gas from the pipeline and taking advantage of cheap and affordable fuel.

Torrent Group Director Janel Mehta said that the ongoing Green Hydrogen Plant in Gorakhpur and its integration in the city gas distribution infrastructure of Torrent Gas is a milestone in India’s energy change and the company’s commitment to the National Green Hydrogen Mission. He said that a mixture of green hydrogen in the gas grid of Gorakhpur is a step towards achieving the country’s net-georo target, reducing emissions, increasing the demand for green molecules and creating a platform for deep de-carbonization in the transport and industry.

The revenue of the Torrent Group is around ₹ 45,000 crore and the market captivity of the group is about ₹ 2 lakh crore. The group has a strong appearance in pharmaceuticals, power, city gas distribution (CGD) and sports sector and has recently entered the electrical and diagnostics sector. The group collectively employs more than 26,000 people in India and abroad.

Torrent Power is one of the largest private sector players in the power sector, whose presence is in the entire power value chain. It has a total lock-in generation and pump storage capacity of about 8 GWP and 3 GW, including the established generation capacity of 4.9 GWP and about 3 GWP renewable projects and 3 GW pump storage capacity. Torrent Power distributes 31 billion units annually to twelve cities, which serves 42.1 lakh customers.

Torrent Gas is one of the major CGD companies of the country, which has been authorized to set up CGD infrastructure by Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) and to sell the vehicle users to sell compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas (PNG) to industries and houses, which are in 7 states and 34 districts of 7 Union Territories.

This initiative shows how innovation, sustainability and cooperation together can provide clean energy and pave the way for a more self -sufficient future.
