Chemist Umesh was stabbed to death on June 21 in Amravati, Maharashtra. He was returning home on a bike after closing the shop at night, when he was strangled by people on the bike. Police have also admitted that the chemist was killed for writing a post in support of Nupur Sharma. Umesh Kolhe, 54, who runs a pharmacy under the name Amit Medical in Amravati, was on his way home on the night of June 21.

Police arrested Abdul Taufiq (24), Shoaib Khan (22) and Atib Rashid (22) on June 25 in the Umesh murder case. Other accused have also been arrested. So far 7 accused have been arrested.
