A bootlegger supplying foreign liquor in Patan and Banaskantha districts including Mehsana district was nabbed by the Mehsana LCB team two days ago after setting up a watch, later the accused was produced in court today. The court remanded the accused for four days for further investigation.

On June 26, the Mehsana LCB team seized an icer car full of foreign liquor from Palodar Road near Mehsana Bypass Fatepura Circle. The police seized a total of 43 lakh 74 thousand 460 worth of property and arrested the accused Sikandar Singh. Asu alias Ashish Agarwal was named during the police investigation.

A team of Mehsana LCB team reached Rajasthan to catch Ashish alias Asun. When the police came to know that the bootlegger was going to Ahmedabad with his car, the team that went to Rajasthan informed the Mehsana LCB team about this matter and during the night Asu alias Ashish was caught by setting a watch.

The arrested accused was taken to the Mehsana court today. Public prosecutor Paresh K Dave argued in the court that the arrested accused and his associates were supplying foreign liquor throughout Gujarat including Mehsana district and as many as 26 prohibition offenses have been filed against the accused in Mehsana district. The Mehsana court granted four days remand of the accused, arguing for an investigation as to where the speedy accused was bringing foreign liquor, where he was delivering it, wrong vehicle number plate, RC book, as well as where he was making a false belt.
