Currently lumpy virus is being seen in cattle in Rajkot district. This disease is spread through the contact of one animal with another animal or through ticks, flies, mosquitoes etc. attached to the body of animals. Rajkot District Collector Arun Mahesh Babu has issued a notification to prevent the spread of this disease. In which cattle cannot be transported from one village to another in Rajkot district. This notification will be applicable till August 21.

Ban on cattle fairs, trade, exhibition
Trafficking of cattle from one village to another in every taluk of Rajkot has been banned. Cattle trade, cattle fairs, cattle shows, games with animals and gatherings of animals are prohibited. Not to leave open or loose in any street or public place animals with infectious diseases and carcasses of dead animals with disease or any part thereof or to bring them.

Violators of the declaration shall be liable to fine and punishment
Occupiers or residents of premises where animals infected with lumpy skin disease are kept are asked to keep the premises clean and to destroy disease spores. Apart from this, it has been asked to make appropriate arrangements to keep the animals, which appear to have Lumpy Skin disease, separated from each other.
