This time the G-20 summit is being prepared in Ladakh. The proposal is being hailed as a masterstroke by Prime Minister Modi. On the other hand, the proposal has added fuel to the fire in neighboring China and Pakistan. The Government of India has decided to hold the G20 Summit in Ladakh this time. According to sources, the government has also started preparations. This decision of the Modi government is being called a masterstroke. It may be noted that China and India have been at loggerheads over the Ladakh border dispute since May 2020. China did not like the decision of the Indian government. China has opposed the Indian government’s proposal. It may be recalled that China and Pakistan had earlier opposed the Indian government’s proposal to hold the G20 summit in Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan knows that India will raise the issue of Kashmir at the conference and let the world know that the people of Kashmir fully believe in India’s democracy and constitution. China is an important part of the G20. So despite the opposition, China cannot boycott the G20 summit. The Chinese president is forced to reach Ladakh or Jammu and Kashmir. This will be the first major conference since Article 370 was removed from Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh was made a separate Union Territory.
