
Rajkot: A jaunt in this pleasant season to Nyari Dam turned into a traumatic experience for three female students as they were robbed of their mobile phones at a knife point. The students, Asha ChauhanDipali Nandaniya and Riddhi Sojitrahad gone to hang out at this favourite picnic spot and enjoy the rain, on Friday. When they were returning, an unknown man waylaid them at an isolated spot and brandished a knife. He threatened to attack them and asked the women to hand over their mobile phones. The man immediately fled after the loot. The victims approached Rajkot Taluka police and lodged a complaint.
Runaway couple
traced to MP
Rajkot: Porbandar police has traced a couple that had eloped from Bagavadar police station jurisdiction, to Madhya Pradesh. As the girl was a minor, a complaint of kidnapping has been registered against her paramour Rahul Bhil. Police were checking the credentials of migrant labourers when they got to know that the couple living in Simani village of MP in a hut.
Slaughterhouses
ordered to shut down
Rajkot: Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) issued a notification ordering all slaughterhouses to shut down on all the four Mondays of Shravan month that begins on July 29 and Janmashtami on August 19. The sale and storage of raw or cooked non-veg items is also banned during these days.
