The Railway Protection Force has traced and handed over 80 children who ran away from home from the Ahmedabad section of the Western Railway in the seven months to July this year. A total of 487 such children were found by Western Railway under ‘Operation Nanhe Feriste’. In which there were 313 boys and 174 girls. RPF has done a creditable and commendable job of safely reuniting them with their families.
This performance of RPF was applauded
Due to family issues, these children are known to run away knowingly or unknowingly without informing their family members in search of a better life and glamour. As part of ‘Operation Nanhe Feriste’, the children who have run away from home were found by the RPF in the platform, train or railway premises. General Manager of Western Railway, Prakash Butani, praised the RPF for their work.
600 children reunited with their families in 2021
Understanding the problem of children, taking up the social responsibility of reuniting them with their families by counseling them, the feeling of happiness, joy and happiness is again being seen in many families. During the last year 2021, a total of 600 such children were reunited with their families. The parents and families of the children also expressed their heartfelt thanks to the RPF for this work.
