Congress MLA Irfan Ansari has supported the holiday on Friday instead of Sunday in more than 100 schools in Jamtara, Jharkhand. He has said that where there are completely minority children, this rule is already running. He said, “Even today Friday is a holiday in Urdu schools. Instead, studies are held on Sundays. If this happens already, then what is the matter of arbitrariness in this.
MLA Ansari said, “Fridays get a holiday because children offer Namaz on that day. On the other hand, on Sunday, the school opens instead so that their studies are not interrupted. Why is it not being asked why Muslim schools are not closing on Sundays. The question should be raised when there are two days off. Education should not be linked with religion.
Education Minister called a meeting on the matter
At the same time, on this matter, Education Minister Jagarnath Mahato has called a meeting at his residence on Sunday evening. In this, the District Education Officer, District Education Officer and Block Level Officers of Jamtara district have also been summoned. All the officers have been asked to attend the meeting with the report related to those schools.
Let us tell you that there are about 100 government schools in Jamtara, where the weekly holiday has been changed from Sunday to Friday as the Muslim population increases. This is because neither students nor teachers come on Friday. Friday is also written on the wall of the school. Taking action on it, the Education Minister has called a meeting.
In those areas, the local people have decided the holiday according to their own in the schools. Villagers have declared Friday Jumma as a weekly holiday instead of Sunday by pressurizing the headmaster and teachers. This is the situation in those areas where the number of Muslim children is more in schools. Most of the schools are located in Narayanpur, Karmatand and Jamtara blocks. According to government figures, there are about 1084 government schools in the district.
Students stopped joining hands in Garhwa
Recently, there was a case of not praying with folded hands in a school in Jharkhand itself. Here also the rule of prayer was changed due to the large Muslim population. The principal alleges that this process is going on for the last 9 years under the pressure of the local people. They are compelled in front of the insistence of the villagers. He also complained to the local administration. When the matter reached the education minister of the state, he ordered the district education officer to investigate.
