Police officers giving information and youth caught from drug de-addiction center in Ramidi village of Kapurthala.

Police have freed 20 youths by raiding a drug de-addiction center in Ramidi village of Kapurthala, Punjab. It is alleged that here religious knowledge was claimed to give freedom from intoxication. The police have filed a case against 5 people, including the center operator, for cheating and assaulting lakhs of rupees by the illegal drug de-addiction center. Police have arrested 4 accused and started investigation.

It is learned that Baba Jagtar Singh, the center operator, used to take the youth to his tent to get rid of the drug after talking to the family members of the drug addicted youth. In the dera, the matter of assaulting the youth by giving them intoxicants had also come to the fore. Later, instead of releasing the youths, their family members were threatened and demanded a hefty amount.

20 thousand rupees were demanded for treatment

DSP Bhulath Amrik Singh Chahal said on Saturday that Paramjit Singh Chandi, a resident of village Rajowal district, Jalandhar, had complained that his son had returned from Dubai 4 months ago. He had become addicted to drugs. He came to know that there is a drug de-addiction center in the name of Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Vidyalaya in Ramidi village near Subhanpur. Those who get rid of intoxication through religious knowledge. Introduced son Narinder Pal Singh with Baba Jagtar Singh. He demanded 20 thousand rupees for the drug de-addiction course.

A week later Baba Jagtar Singh called his daughter and asked her to deposit Rs 15,000 in her account. His daughter put money in his account.

He should reach 30 thousand rupees as soon as possible. On June 6, when he reached the center located in Ramidi village to meet his son with Rs 30,000, his son had a lot of injuries on his feet and his condition was also not good.

On 7th June, Baba Jagtar Singh got a call on his mobile phone and said that his boy has run away from the tent and he has reached directly to you. Bring him to me quickly. If told to the police, the boy Narinder Pal Singh will be killed.

3 lakhs demanded to leave the son

20 youths found hostage

When the Bhulath police raided the drug de-addiction center in Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Vidyalaya village Ramidi, 20 youths were found hostage in the camp. The police freed everyone. Wooden sticks, important papers, car, intoxicating pills were recovered from the drug de-addiction center. Police have registered a case against Baba Jagtar Singh, Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha, Baljit Singh, Pavitra Singh and Pappu. DSP Amrik Singh also told that the main accused Baba Jagtar Singh has 11 cases registered against him in different police stations.
