Ahmedabad: Aam Aadmi Party National Convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has raised the issue of free electricity to encircle the BJP Government of Gujarat.
Arvind Kejriwal, who is on a tour of Gujarat, had a dialogue with the people on the issue of electricity. He listened to the questions of people disturbed by high electricity bills. Addressing the people later, Arvind Kejriwal announced that he would also get free electricity in Gujarat and would return to Gujarat on Sunday. He also announced that he would now visit Gujarat every week to discuss various issues.
Addressing the people, he said, “We have shown by working in Delhi and Punjab. We show by doing what we say. Our workers have been roaming in the villages of Gujarat for a year and a half, people are in trouble. Why is electricity so expensive in Gujarat? In Gujarat, ministers hold parties in their offices, homes and toilets. Their electricity bill comes to zero. The public should really get the facilities that ministers get. We want to do in Gujarat what we have done in Delhi and Punjab. If we want cheap and free electricity in Gujarat too, we have to change the power for it. An honest government must be brought. This government has robbed the people so they do not provide free electricity.

It has started providing free electricity to Punjab from July 1. In Gujarat, 70 to 80 percent of people’s bills are wrong. While money is also charged for changing the meter.
Those present then complained that they had been tired of pushing for electricity connection for farming for two years but could not get the connection. The government provides electricity to farmers only 4 hours a night. In 2016, the light bill was 3500. Now comes 10,000. Even if a solar panel is installed, the company does not give extra credit money in the bill.
