Whenever we go to buy liquor, the bootleggers say, come after 8 pm, only then we will give you liquor. During the day, liquor bootleggers are saying that ‘business is closed now’, on the basis of which there are discussions that the bootleggers have got some ‘special’ permission to sell liquor after 8 pm following the crackdown.

70 bootleggers caught in 200 reds of country liquor
The Gandhinagar district police called a crackdown on the local liquor stores as soon as they came across the Lattha incident in Barwala. In the last five days, the police has washed 2200 liters of country liquor by making 230 reds at different places and has registered a case against 90 bootleggers and taken legal action.

Sting operation at Kalol city and Piyaj-Borisana village
Divya Bhaskar Digital conducted a sting operation near the temple of Ambaji Mata in Kalol City area as well as in Piyaj and Borisana villages of the taluka, where the dangerous trade of country liquor was going on. If you go to buy a bottle of liquor with the country liquor bootleggers, they say that it is very strict now, save it and take it! Also, it was seen that bootleggers were charging 20 rupees and 30 rupees for a pot in some places.

Even under the nose of the police, business continues
Even within Kalol Taluk and Kalol City of Gandhinagar district, country liquor bootleggers have managed to continue their business even under the nose of the police. Kalol city, Kalol taluk, Adalaj, Mansa and Santaj police in Kalol division have arrested five bootleggers with 29 reds and estimated quantity of around 900 liters of country liquor and 12 bootleggers managed to escape.
