On Monday, in the Khwaja Dana area of Salabatpura, a mad dog created so much terror for 6 hours that there was panic among the people.
The Municipal Corporation is proving unsuccessful in controlling the stray dogs of the city. Dogs are injuring someone or the other every day. In the last two days, stray dogs have made more than 25 people their prey in two areas of the city. On Monday, in the Khwaja Dana area of Salabatpura, a mad dog created so much terror for 6 hours that there was panic among the people.
The mad dog bitten 10 people including 8 children one after the other. These include children aged 6 to 7 years. The parents rushed to the civil hospital with the children injured by the dog bite. There was a line of people including injured children in the civil hospital.
Local people say that they called the Municipal Corporation, but no one came. On the other hand, the Municipal Officer says that we had gone to the spot and caught two dogs from there and brought them to the dog center. On Saturday, 15 people were bitten by some dogs in Bhatar. According to the data received from the Civil Hospital, about 200 cases of dog bites are coming daily from different areas of the city.

There is anger among the local people of Khwaja Dana area of Salabatpura due to the terror of the mad dog. The brother of a child who was injured by a dog bite told that a mad dog created a ruckus from 7 am till noon on Monday. He was cutting whatever he saw in front of him. Some children were playing outside the house and some were coming from school. Whatever he found on the way, the dog had bitten him.
The dog hunted 8 children and two people. Bitten the hands of a child, the back of someone and the leg of someone. He told that when my brother was coming from madrasa, the dog bit him too. Called to the Municipal Corporation several times but no one came. We took 8 children to the civil hospital.

Another local person from Khwaja Dana area said that a black dog had created panic since Monday morning. He also bitten our child. The child was bleeding profusely. We took the children in a rickshaw to the civil hospital. There was an injection. The metropolitan municipality should catch stray dogs. People should be protected from such dogs.
Municipality: Every day 35 to 40 dogs are caught and vaccinated from across the city.
According to the information received from the Civil Hospital, about 200 dog bite cases come to the city every day. Last year these figures were close to 55. On the other hand, 35 to 40 dogs are vaccinated and sterilized daily by the Municipal Corporation. According to the municipal official, 5308 dogs have been sterilized and vaccinated since January this year.
The Metropolitan Municipality keeps catching stray dogs from different areas of the city. Such dogs are caught and kept under observation for 3 days. After that, they are vaccinated and sterilized and released in the area from where they were raised. Last year around 10000 dogs were vaccinated and sterilized.
