Millions of devotees flock to Pavagadh amid heavy rains, ropeway closed several times during the day

After the renovation of the pilgrimage site of Pavagadh, the number of devotees has been steadily increasing. Devotees thronged Ghodapur despite heavy rains on Sunday. Devotees thronged in the early morning amidst cloudy foggy weather and heavy rain. During the day, more than two lakh devotees flocked to Mahakali. The ropeway was forced to close several times during the day for safety reasons due to rain and wind.

Even in the midst of heavy rains, devotees flocked to Ghodapur to pay homage to Mahakali.

A long line was seen outside the temple to pay homage to Mataji all day on Sunday. According to Tantra, more than two lakh devotees thronged on Sunday. All the parking plots in Machi and Chapaner were full. So there were queues of vehicles parked on Halol-Pavagadh road.

Tight police arrangements were made to avoid any untoward incident due to the huge influx of pilgrims. Local police and district police personnel stood on the cliffs in the pouring rain to control the crowd.
It started raining late on Saturday night in Halol taluka. Heavy rains lashed the area on Sunday morning, with three-and-a-half inches of rain falling between six and seven in the morning.
Even amidst the rains, more than two lakh devotees received the blessings of Maa.
