‘mp Claiming False Credit For Naming Airport After Maharaja’ | Mysuru News

Mysuru: Historian PV Nanjaraj Urs slammed Mysuru MP Pratap Simha for claiming credit for renaming the Mysuru Airport after the late Maharaja of Mysore Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar.

Speaking to the media, he alleged that Simha is falsely claiming credit for the works of others.
It may be recalled that on Friday, the state cabinet meeting decided to name the airport located at Mandakalli village on Mysuru-Nanjangud Road after Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, a pioneer of the development and social justice in the erstwhile Mysuru province. He is considered the architect of modern Karnataka.
“In 2015 itself, then CM Siddaramaiah recommended the central government to name the airport after Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar. Same is approved now,” he said.
“This government and MP are hiding facts,” Urs stated.
Releasing the documents dated October 9, 2015, Urs stated that based on the decision taken by then chief minister Siddaramaiah, then principal secretary of infrastructure development corporation wrote a letter to the chairman, AAI, New Delhi, on the matter.
“The state government should clarify the matter and ensure that the truth prevails. The bureaucracy should have informed the CM of the truth,” he said. tnn
