According to local media reports, 13 people were killed in a bus accident on the road from Ramechhap to Kathmandu. The accident happened this morning in Ramechhap. Ramchhap Chief District Officer Deepak Kumar Pahadi said there were reports of several deaths in the accident. “Rescue operations are underway and so far six people have been reported dead,” he said.
Helicopters are trying to rescue the seriously injured, he said. The death toll could rise. The bodies are being collected and the injured are being shifted to a hospital for treatment, said Geeta Bista Chaulage, vice-president of Sunapati village municipality, who was present at the spot. About 40 people were on board the bus when the accident happened.
