Rakesh Jhunjhunwala's Akasa Air starts booking, will start flights on Mumbai-Ahmedabad route from August 7

Rakesh Jhunjhunwala-backed Akasa Air has received its flying permit from aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation. Akasa Airlines has announced to start operations in July-end. Acasa Air has started booking tickets. Akasa Air will start its first commercial flights on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route on August 7. Akasa Air offers 28 weekly flights between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Thereafter, from August 13, the airline will start operating an additional 28 weekly flights to and from Bengaluru.
Currently Acasa Air Bay is starting its commercial flights with 737 Max aircraft. Akasa Air co-founder and chief commercial officer Praveen Iyer said they are starting flights between Mumbai and Ahmedabad from August 7 with the brand new Boeing 737 Max aircraft. He also said that he will expand his network in phases. Two aircraft will be added to their fleet every month. It plans to operate approximately 70 aircraft over the next four years and has ordered 72 Boeing 737 Max aircraft. The deal was signed at the 2022 Dubai Air Show.
The aircraft will offer fliers a Boeing Sky interior with soft seat cushions, spacious leg room and USB ports. Akasa Air’s buy-on-board dining service will be available at Café Akasa – offering a wide selection of food options including pasta, Indian dishes, Vietnamese rice rolls, hot chocolate.
