Bandra-Kurla Complex has finally been recognized by the State Government as an International Finance and Trade Centre, Financial Trade Zone. This work was stalled since 1993. Finding it is likely to fetch a good price for BKC’s stock. E-auction or direct sale of MMRDA’s food there will be encouraged.

The BKC area was selected in 1977 to develop an alternative economic center in Mumbai. MMRDA was given the responsibility of developing BKC as a special planning authority. By dividing the land there from A to IM, the ownership of E and G blocks was given to MMRDA. Allotment of this land is given on 80 years lease. Due to this a good source of income has arisen for MMRDA.

Meanwhile, BKC was recognized as an international finance and trade center to attract foreign investment in the purchase and sale of this land and to stimulate its development. This recognition was given in 1993 as per industry standard. However, BKC did not get the benefit of the facility as an international financial center and trade center until the issuance of the ordinance in this regard. In that too, the e-auction of Hachand was hit.

Hungers worth thousands of crores of rupees are falling: At present, the sale of hunger is the only source of income for MMRDA. In addition, projects worth 1 lakh 74 thousand 940 crore rupees have been started by MMRDA. Out of this, 1 lakh 24 thousand 193 crore rupees projects have been started.
