The Jharkhand government has decided to provide 100 units of electricity free of cost to the economically backward people in the state. The State Cabinet approved the proposal related to this today. At the same time, the State Cabinet has given its approval to the ‘Jharkhand State Private Sector Local Candidate Employment Manual’, made to give 75 percent reservation to the local people in the appointments in the private sector.

In March 2021, the bill related to this was passed by the cabinet. Whereas in September 2021, this bill has been passed by the Assembly. Now rules have been made to implement this.

A total of 55 agendas were approved in the cabinet meeting held in the State Secretariat. In this regard, Personnel Secretary Vandana Dadel has informed that Jharkhand’s first Digital Skill University will open in Khunti Polytechnic College. He said that in 2018 a total of eight polytechnic colleges were set up in the state at Khunti, Lohardaga, Palamu, Chatra, Jamtara, Godda, Bagodar and Hazaribagh. All these will be operated under Skill University to be built under Polytechnic College in Khunti.

Similarly, Azim Premji University will be opened in the state by the Azim Premji Foundation. The Pandit Raghunath Murmu Tribal University Bill, 2022 will be introduced again in the House.

He said that the cabinet has also given its consent to constitute a three-member committee to prepare an SOP for the old pension scheme by abolishing the new contributory pension scheme. The committee headed by the Development Commissioner will have Principal Secretary, Finance Department and Principal Secretary, Personnel Department as members.

Apart from this, the cabinet gave consent on different proposals of Road Construction Department, Building Construction Department, Women and Child Welfare Department.
