Uddhav Thackeray may once again come close to the BJP in the fight to save the existence of Shiv Sena. Uddhav Thackeray may announce his support to NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu for the presidential election.
Uddhav Thackeray is thinking positively about this. This has been confirmed by Gajanan Kirtikar, a Shiv Sena MP from the Thackeray group. Today, Uddhav Thackeray convened a meeting of Shiv Sena MPs at his residence Matoshri. In this meeting, he sought votes from MPs on whether Shiv Sena should support UPA candidate Yashwant Sinha or NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu.
Most of the MPs present at the meeting urged Uddhav Thackeray to support the NDA candidate. Gajanan Kirtikar said that Uddhav Thackeray would take a decision in a day or two. He said the presidential election should be seen separately from politics.
Meanwhile, only 2 out of 18 Shiv Sena MPs were present at the meeting. He dismissed reports that seven MPs were absent from the meeting and that they were in touch with the Shinde group. It may be noted that Union Minister of State for Railways Rao Saheb Danve has claimed that 12 Shiv Sena MPs are in touch with the Shiv Sena group.
