Congress leader Navjot Singh Siddhi and Punjab’s popular singer Daler Mehndi are serving sentences in Patiala Central Jail. Both are housed in the same barracks. Not only this, the jail administration has also assigned work to him. According to the information received by the sources, Sidhu is the clerk and Daler Mehndi has got the responsibility of keeping the records of various things in the jail. Both have been sentenced by the court in different cases. Sidhu has been sentenced to one year and Daler to two years.
It is noteworthy that Navjot Singh Sidhu was declared guilty in the 34-year-old road rage case. He had to surrender without getting relief even from the Supreme Court and is now serving a one-year imprisonment in the Central Jail of Patiala. However, on the other hand, famous Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi was found guilty in an 18-year-old human trafficking case and sentenced to two years in prison. Sources informed that Sidhu was given a bed on Friday as he complained of knee pain.
