The people of the low-lying areas have been alerted as the rivers are flowing at dangerous levels. Of the district Dolvan Heavy rains in the last 24 hours in the taluka have caused floods in the rivers Ganditur and roads and fields have been flooded. As many as 30 to 40 people were trapped in a house in Tapi’s Antapur village and a team of municipal firefighters rushed to the spot and rescued 25 people. At this time, the District Development Officer, Province, Mamlatdar and other police personnel were on the lookout for rescue operations. Rescue operations are also underway in Antapur, Andharwadi, Panchol and Palsia villages. It is to be noted that heavy rain is falling in Tapi district at the end of South Gujarat.
Ghodapur has flooded most of the rivers in the district following heavy rains in Tapi district and Uparvas. The situation is similar with the Purna river that flows through Dolwan. The river Nirna is flowing on both the banks of the river when it rains. So the people living in the riverside villages have been told to be vigilant. More than 20 roads in the district have been closed due to heavy rains and the water level of Ukai Dam has also risen. Water inflow into the dam continues.
