TASL delivers the Quick Reaction Fighting Vehicle to the Indian Army

Indian Industry Group TATA Group Company Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TATA ADVANCED SYSTEMS LIMITED – TASL) A Monday indigenously developed Quick Reaction Fighting Vehicle-Medium (Quick Reaction Fighting Vehicle – QRFV) Indian Army(Indian Army)has been submitted. Tata Advanced Systems Limited wrote in a tweet, ‘TASL has successfully delivered QRFV to Indian Army.’ It further added that inducting this vehicle will enhance the operational capability of the Indian Army in future conflicts. In the defense sector, Indian companies are not only trying to meet the indigenous needs but also strengthening their hold in other countries.

Increase vigor with indigenous defense devices

Earlier, Minister of State for Defense Ajay Bhatt said that the BJP-led government at the Center has taken many policy initiatives in the last few years. Under this several reforms have been introduced to promote indigenous design, development and manufacture of defense equipment in the country so as to expand the production of indigenous defense equipment.

Decrease in foreign purchases

In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, the Minister of State said that the initiatives taken by the Center to encourage the production of indigenous defense equipment in the last four years from 2018-19 to 2021-22 have resulted in procurement for defence. The cost has been reduced from 46 percent of the total cost to 36 percent.

The QRFV was absorbed into the army

In April, Army Chief General MM Naravane inducted the first set of QRFVs. In the defense release, the Army Chief included QRFV, Infantry Protected Mobility Vehicle (IPMV), Ultra Long Range Observation System developed by TASL and monocoque hull multi-role mine-protected armored vehicle developed by Bharat Forge.

Over 65 percent purchase

According to the Defense Ministry, 65.50 percent of the total budget at the end of the fiscal year was procured from Indian industry. According to a Defense Ministry official, Indian industry has contributed significantly to making the defense sector self-reliant. The government is removing obstacles in their way. The industry is also constantly striving to move on to new technologies. In the defense sector, Indian companies are not only trying to meet the indigenous needs but also strengthening their hold in other countries.
