- Prantij’s Bokh is being filled by pouring into the canal
The water flowing into the river from the Hatmati weir of Himatnagar in Sabarkantha district is being used and filled in the Hatmati canal. With this, Limla and Karol dams will also be filled. So the water levels of wells and bores in surrounding villages will rise. A canal front has been constructed on Hathmati Canal from Mahaveernagar to Chaparia in Himmatnagar. While adding to the vibrancy of the city, the canal front has come alive with water flowing in the empty Kham Canal. Due to which it has become the center of attraction of the urban people in the early morning and evening
The flowing water was used well
By filling Bokh, Limla and Karol dams in Prantij, the bore well levels in the surrounding villages are raised, which can be used for agriculture. So there is relief in drinking water in villages. At that time, the water flowing into the river from the Hatmati weir of Himmatnagar is being poured into the canal and the Prantij’s bokh is being filled. In the middle of the monsoon, the water flowing in the river is being stored through canals.
Bokh got 150 MCFT of water in five days
DK Patel, Deputy Executive Engineer, Himatnagar Irrigation Sub-Division said this in a telephonic conversation. That water has been flowing in Hatmati canal for the last five days, while water was flowing in the canal for the first two days and the water was stopped due to a gap in the canal near the irrigation department. After that water has been started for three days, 250 cusecs of water in two days and currently 145 cusecs of water has been released in the canal. Bokh, Karol and Limla dams are filled through this canal. In which approximately 700 MCFT of water can be stored. And so far 150 MCFT of water has been filled in Bokh in five days. With this, the bores and wells of the surrounding villages will rise.
Total 59% rainfall has been recorded in the district so far
Himatnagar taluka recorded the highest rainfall of 68.90 percent and Prantij taluka recorded the lowest rainfall of 44.91 percent. Idar taluka of the district received 59.65 percent, Khed Brahma 59.06 percent, Talod 50.89 percent, Prantij 44.91 percent, Poshina 58.73 percent, Wadali 62.01 percent, Vijayanagar 68.35 percent and Himatnagar taluka 68.90 percent. The water revenue in the reservoirs of the district is still running. So 200 cusecs in Hathmati Reservoir, 50 cusecs in Harnao Reservoir, 100 cusecs in Khedwa Reservoir and 332 cusecs in Jawanpura Barrage have been recorded till 8 am on Saturday.
