As the assembly elections in Gujarat are approaching, every political party is making various advertisements to woo the voters. The Aam Aadmi Party, which is going to contest the Gujarat assembly elections for the first time, promised to provide free electricity to the people of Gujarat, Prime Minister Modi commented that, ‘They are trying to bring a culture of getting votes by distributing free electricity. This revdy culture is very fatal for the development of the country. The people of the country need to be wary of this revdy culture.’ The leaders and activists of Aam Aadmi Party held demonstrations across the state today regarding this. Police have detained several AAP workers, including women.
Aam Aadmi Party held a protest program near Big Bazaar in Raipur area of Ahmedabad. However, even before the program was held, the police had started detaining the activists and leaders who had come to participate in the program. Kagdapith police detained more than 40 AAP workers. The activists who sat on the road were picked up by the police and put in a police van. Kagdapith police detained more than 10 women and more than 30 men activists.
The program was to be held under the leadership of Aam Aadmi Party National Joint Secretary Isudan Gadhvi and State General Minister Manoj Sorthia. But Jesusdan Gadhvi was not present.
The workers of AAP came to the protest holding posters of news cuttings related to the corruption, corruption, poor condition of schools, inflation, paper leak, sale of illegal liquor in the state of BJP’s Gujarat government.
Apart from Ahmedabad, AAP workers also gathered in Surat, Rajkot, Mehsana, Tapi, Junagadh and Valsad to protest the Gujarat government’s opening of polls. Bharat Mataki Jai, Inqlab Zindabad Ladeng Jeeteng chanted slogans. Many AAP activists have been detained across the state for gathering to hold protests without permission.
