A strange case has come to light in Bardoli Baria of Dehgam taluk. Here, in the land with survey number owned by a landlord, the villagers were surprised today when water fountains started flying from a bore well without a motor. A fountain of water 20 feet high was released from the bore. As the rumor of gas leak spread, people came running. On being informed about the curious incident, the police rushed to the spot. The incident is being investigated.
At present, in Gandhinagar district under Atal Bhujal Yojana, there are details of the construction of borewells of Atal Bhujal Yojana to measure and obtain information about the condition of underground water in various villages. These borewells are known as piezometers. A 330-feet deep borewell was constructed at Bardoli Bariya on land owned by a farmer, as part of a plan to construct a total of 23 piezometer borewells in Dehgam taluk. There are details that Borkuva work was completed last Monday.
Rumors of air and gas coming out along with the water
Strong lids were fitted over the wells. However, at 4:30 this morning, large fountains of water began to flow from inside this well. The discussion of air and gas coming out along with the water gained a lot of momentum among the villagers. On being informed about the incident, Dehgam Fire Brigade Team Officer Suryoday Singh and Taluka Development Officer Kanubhai Patel, Disaster Management and GPCB and ONGC teams reached. The fire team tried to control the pressure by opening the lock of the borewell. Water fountains were flying with great pressure till afternoon. Water pressure relief operation was carried out by ONGC. Recently in one such village of Dehgam there was an incident of gas fountains escaping from a bore.
