SHIMLA: To corner the chief minister Jai Ram Thakur-led BJP government on the issues of inflation and unemployment, Congress has decided to organise series of protest demonstrations through ‘mehangai chaupal’ at village levels across 68 assembly constituencies of Himachal Pradesh from August 17 to 23.
On the same issue, Congress will hold ‘Halla Bol’ rally at Ramleela ground at New Delhi on August 28.
AICC national spokesperson Alka Lamba while addressing media persons in Shimla on Tuesday said that in the coming days Congress party will take forward the fight against unemployment and inflation in the form of a series of protests. She said that in Himachal Pradesh these protests will be under the collective leadership.
She said that state president Pratibha Singh, leader of opposition Mukesh Agnihotri and chairman of campaign committee Sukhvinder Singh along with other senior leaders will organise these protest demonstration in all 68 assembly constituencies of state. She said that He said that all district and block Congress committees would organize Halla Bol-Dilli Chalo program on inflation at district and block level together.
Congress spokesperson said that people of country are bearing the brunt of the economic mismanagement of the Modi government. She said that inflation is rising due to excessive taxes on essential goods like curd, buttermilk, packaged food grains, while the transfer of public property to friendly capitalists and the introduction of the directionless Agneepath scheme is making the employment situation worse.
She said that Himachal Pradesh Congress will continue to spread awareness among people on these anti-people policies and will increase pressure on the BJP government to change its wrong policies.
